“Great Place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

Great place to stay highlighted by the super friendly and helpful staff! Very comfortable with several options for accommodations. Not far from the center of town and very close to the mountain. Would definitely stay there again!

This seems to be a bit of a theme - this place has fantastic beds and pillows! The staff on reception are super friendly, and have no problem giving advice, recommendations etc and are truthful about which places they like and what you are likely to find - invaluable to first time Steamboat visitors.

We took the free shuttle to dinner on Saturday night and the driver, Neil, was great - friendly, on time etc - a great service if you want to have a glass of wine or two with dinner!

Breakfast was so so (but it's in the price - we chose to eat out the second morning). The pool is small but ok - the only problem for us having an adult (child free) weekend was how many children and annoying indulgent parents there were - shocking to see children at breakfast on their own (aged about 5 and 7!!!!) - certainly NOT the hotel's fault. I suppose these parents think this makes the hotel family friendly ... so there's a recommendation right there!

I most certainly would recommend this place and wouldn't hesitate to book again if we go up to Steamboat for a break.

Room Tip: We had room 209 - right by reception and had no problem with noise at all. Super convenient for un...

We really enjoyed our stay at The Inn at Steamboat. You can tell it was an older hotel but has been updated beautifully. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and nicely updated. The beds were AMAZING! I kept saying that the sheets felt like marshmallows. We like to support local businesses whenever possible and we were not disappointed with this one. We're going to try to head back in January and hope to stay here.

We spent two nights here. The Inn at Steamboat is okay, but we don't understand its #1 Trip Advisor ranking. The room was fine, the front desk was fine, the breakfast was fine...but nothing was stellar. The balcony is shared. The rooms have sliding doors onto the balcony, but there's no privacy, sheers, or screens to protect guests from prying eyes or to allow you to enjoy the mountain air. Our room was next to the outer door, which was propped open all day (closed and locked at 10 pm). I would not recommend this location to travelers with safety concerns or travelers with disabilities as there are multiple stairs to negotiate. The Inn had nothing major wrong with it but nothing to recommend it either. Located four miles from downtown in a condo/resort neighborhood, it was one of many resort hotels in town. On our next visit, we'll stay closer to restaurants and nightlife.

Not the fanciest hotel in town, but perhaps the cleanest...and fancy enough. This was a great buy. It's quiet, clean, and everything you could ask for. Hi recommendations for this Inn. If you're looking to impress people with what you spent, this isn't the place.

We stayed for three nights in a family suite and I was blown away. It is a small, immaculate, and exceptionally comfortable hotel nestled in the hills not too far (walking distance) from the gondola and the ski resort. You can drive a few minutes into downtown, or you can use their on-demand door-to-door shuttle service. To get the shuttle going out, simply go to the front desk and ask for a ride. They pull it around and on you go! To get picked up, call and someone comes to get you right away. You can also pick up the core trail very easily from the hotel and bike to your downtown destination, and then lock up your bikes in the locking storage room, if there is space available, or on the outdoor bike rack. The shuttle, which is spotless and comfortable, also has a bike rack. The room was spacious and very clean, and what struck me most was the lack of "hotel smell." The air was fresh and clean. The beds were very comfortable, and we were provided with an assortment of pillows, comforters, extra blankets, and even a cozy throw on the arm chair. Breakfast was hot and delicious, and coffee, tea, and fruit were available all day. Now for the staff. The owner, Todd, is very friendly and practices old-school hospitality. We bumped into him several times a day, and he always asked if we were having a good time and finding good places to eat and fun things to do. He knows everything about the area and had great recommendations for us for everything we wanted to do. The other staff members were equally warm, friendly, and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet, clean, convenient, reasonably priced, and comfortable stay.

The Inn did its job of providing us excellent service and accommodation for our one night stay in Steamboat. The staff was very nice and very helpful but the Inn overall was a bit lackluster. There is no wow to the place. It is very simple, clean and well taken care of. The location is a bit off if you are looking to experience steamboat. There is a shuttle that will take you downtown and to the resort, so we used this service to go into town for dinner. They only offer breakfast so one would need to bring their own refreshments as there is no bar or store close. The room was spacious and clean but the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were huge. Overall it serviced its purpose but if we return to Steamboat we will be looking for something a bit more luxurious with more amenities.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about The Inn at Steamboat. Sorry we fell short of your expectations with regards to onsite dinning, location and "wow" factor. We are pleased you enjoyed our on-call shuttle service to take you to dinner, complimentary breakfast, our friendly and helpful staff and clean and spacious rooms.
