We've been walking past the Hotel Bristol for 20 years and never gave it a thought until we decided to look for a hotel in town so that we could walk to restaurants and shops. For us, this was a great find. Cozy lobby, super friendly and helpful staff and, of course a great location to walk to just about anything worthwhile in town. Just a block from the bus stop for no charge transportation to shopping centers and ski lifts.

Yes the rooms are small and we had to learn a synchronized dance to avoid our luggage and each other. But the rooms are tastefully furnished and exceptionally well-maintained. Of course the bathroom was also small, but we have been in far worse and got along fine.

Overall, the hotel looks like it has just been recently remodeled. But it hasn't. Cleanliness and maintenance are that good. We will certainly be back--this summer, in fact.

By the way, have at least one breakfast at Creekside, about a two block walk.

One more comment to those put off by the "non-refundable deposit" complaint. They are VERY clear on their policy, and those who are concerned about an unexpected event should consider trip insurance. This is a small and popular hotel, and I don't see how they can fill a room after last minute cancellations.

Room Tip: I think they are working on the exhaust fan noise and vibration from the restaurant in the basement...

The room was small, but had character (I don't love cookie cutter hotel rooms). We weren't in Steamboat Springs to sit in a hotel room anyways so size wasn't important! The main lobby had a nice fireplace to sit in and have a coffee.

Best of all was the location - right downtown in the center of everything. Easy to walk anywhere and do almost anything - shopping, walking by the river, eating, etc.

Dont be fooled by the welcoming decor. This place is run by indecent people. No sense of hospitality. The nonrefundable deposit is the highest I've ever heard of, you better not have something unexpected happen.

We love this small hotel. The room is small but adequate. It feels like you are in your bedroom rather than the anonymity of a large hotel chain. It is clean and cozy. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Good storage for skis/boards. Great location if you don't mind catching a shuttle bus which is practically outside the door. We would happily come back!

The room was small and minimalistic, so looked bigger, but clean and comfortable. We asked for a quiet room but were disturbed by a kitchen with doors open just across the alley next door. Once we booked in we barely saw anyone, but that didn't really bother us. We couldn't work out how to lock a door that was supposed to be locked after 8pm and there was no one around to ask but everything seemed safe. The jacuzzi was uncomfortably hot!

We booked a "family room" because it wasn't much more, we wanted two beds, and we were a little concerned by all of the "small rooms" reviews. Imagine our (pleasant!) surprise to find that it is actually two completely separate rooms, with their own keyed entries, hooked together by a shared bathtub / shower (each room has its own separate sink/toilet area). Considering the privacy of the layout, this would be an amazing way for two couples to stay in Steamboat with a small pricetag (once you divide it among 4 people). The hotel itself is fine, not amazing, but the location is fun (right downtown) and if you happen to be there on a Saturday night, check out the rodeo, just a short walk down the street!
