“My favorite condos in Steamboat (and I've been in a lot of them)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2010

Our family goes to Steamboat a lot. I first stayed at Cross Timbers about 10 years ago and thought they were some of the nicest units I had seen. Ten years later, and with two young kids, we went there for Labor Day weekend and had a great stay. Our unit was immaculate. These are super spacious and very well accommodated units. The two story ceiling and beautiful interior design with a true western laid back feel makes these townhouse style units extremely comfortable. The kids loved the pool and hot tub, and although we didn't play tennis, there were courts available if we wanted to. In our 3BR, 3 Bath unit, there were two master suites, which was great, and really everything we could have asked for was in the unit. For what is considered a "3.5 star complex" this really is as good as it gets. I think the lower rating is because there isn't an on-site office, but the Mountain Resorts check-in facility (manager's of the unit we stayed in) works great, and there's no need for an on-site office. Mountain Resorts always takes good care of us, their staff is super friendly and the units are always sparkling clean. We had a great stay and can't wait to get back there during ski season.

We were going to stay slopeside but decided to stay at Cross Timbers instead. We were sold on the hot tub and pool after a long day on the hill with the kids (which were both great). The shuttle service was the best I have ever experienced. They ran loops every 5 minutes for a couple hours in the am and pm to and from the mountain, then on demand any other time. The drivers were friendly and informative. The place had plenty of dishware and cookware and we were able to serve 10 people for dinner. The beds were big and comfortable, the master bath was huge, the secondary baths were ample. The place was quiet and well laid out for privacy. Unlike a condo the kids could act like kids without us having to worry about disturbing the neighbors. Three couples could easily enjoy each others company and still have their own space for a week long stay. There were grilling utensils but no grill and the shower head in the master was kind of lame. Other than that we had a great stay.
