“More that we expected !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012

This hotel was great! The managment team went above and beyond our expectations in so many ways. Our room was very clean and roomy, the beds are amazing pillow tops, Large flat screen tv, microwave, coffee pot and a very good breakfast to start off a busy day of fun. The indoor pool and hot tub was great and very clean. This hotel is very affordable and was much nicer than we expected.

We were staying next door at the Holiday Inn. HI's rate skyrocketed the next day, because we decided to extend our stay by three days. We called the La Quinta and John was glad to accommodate us.
As it turned out, I was injured on the slopes that day. John helped my wife and two kids move out of the Holiday Inn and into a very comfortable room on the first floor. It was conveniently located to everything. There were two King Beds in the room.
As to the other comments:
The pool and hot tub were small, yes, but totally adequate for a 6-year old. The breakfast area was efficient. Very authentic mountain feel in the lobby with the exposed log cabin-type wood beams, and despite it beeing peak week between Christmas and New Year, it didn't seem crowded.
We even shared home-made dinner with John and his wife after our "rough day."
I can't understate this "can-do" attitude that the staff had.
It really turned our bummer of a ski injury into the best possible result. We saved money and enjoyed the rest of our time in Steamboat, too.
Convenient public bus to the slopes and to town right in front of the hotel.
Thank you!

Nice clean rooms. Free continental breakfast. Dog friendly. All things we were looking for in a hotel. The rooms have HUGE TVA for. Hotel, guessing about 42 inches, flat screen. More than we expected.
The only draw backs were that the hot tub was really small, and indoors... There were 4 of us in it one night and I think if another couple came in it would have been a little uncomfortable. Breakfast was good. Another customer noted there was no peanut butter for bread / bagels, no real problem for us. They did run out of coffee at 8am, not sure if they made more.
The free Steamboat bus picks up right outside the hotel which is nice. 10 min ride to the ski hill, about 25 mins to get downtown for dinner/drinks. It's really nice to not have to worry about parking, or how much to drink at dinner knowing that the bus will pick you up!

We had booked the La Quinta since we had stayed at a few others and really enjoyed them. When we checked in our room was extremely cold! The GM took care of us immediately and switched our room and even warmed up our new room. The GM and his wife were awesome! No matter our question or request - they took care of us. We were in Steamboat for the birth of our grandson. The hotel was just minutes from the hospital. The owners inquired every time they saw us about our grandson and family. They made us feel welcome and at home. It was wonderful to come to our room after the time spent at the hospital and just relax and shut down for the day. My husband also enjoyed a day of skiing and they were very helpful in getting him to the shuttle for the ski area. I would definitely recommend this hotel. We had the most wonderful stay!

We decided to stay here after a very bad experience with a hotel across the street. The GM was very understanding about our situation and got us in as fast as he could and also gave us some tips on how to deal with our problem. Room is a very nice size and we have a FULL mountain view outside our window. The Flatscreen TV was a very nice surprise. The room also has a dorm size mini fridge and a microwave. Bathroom is a little small but we were well stocked with 3 large towels, washcloths and hand towels. Beds are very comfy!!!

Their breakfast was very nice with sausage, hard boiled eggs, waffles, toast, bagels, juice, coffee, cereal and fruit.

The only complaint I have is not really able to understand the Gm or his wife who runs the front desk, so have patience.

It also has an indoor pool and hot tub area, and I noticed no weird smells of food cooking.

Booked into this property by travel service. Walked in to shabby, dark, lobby, with the strong smell of greasy food. Was supposed to be a pre paid stay and the owners tried to get me to put stay on my card. Can not comment on the rooms but if lobby and check in are any indication....
Went to Hampton Inn down the road. Much nicer for 5$ less per night.

A week ago, my kids and I spent two nights at this hotel for snow skiing. I was so impressed by hotel cleanness and great hospitality of the host and hostess. The hotel room is very nice and clean with plenty of room. The room rate is pretty reasonable and affordable. The hotel is also very close to Steamboat ski area (a few minutes driving). I would strongly recommend it.

Room Tip: If you don't have pet with you and do not want to stay the room that allow for pet, directly ca...
