“Great Staff, Average Accommodations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

The staff is very friendly and helpful here. We enjoyed our stay and I would return.
The good: The rooms have been modernized and updated with nice TVs and DVD players.
The shuttle van: Very nice service taking people to the ski drop off and other places around town.
The hot tubs were nice and a perfect temperature.
The common areas are nicely decorated.

Needs improvement:
You have to go up or down steps to get into the building/to the elevators. We aren't handicapped, but this is a bit inconvenient.
During busy times of the day, you can wait over 30 minutes for the one shuttle van they run to the ski area, even though they supposedly have two.
Our room was tiny. A hotel room really.
The beds need to be replaced, they are saggy in the middle of the mattresses, which are also smallish (It would be nice to have only one queensize bed versus 2 little ones). I do understand why they have the two beds though.
Finally, there are two clothes washers and two dryers on the first floor for guests. Only one of the clothes washers would turn on. The broken washer was also missing the temperature adjustment knob. For a resort where guests attend to partake in outdoor physical activities, this is a very important thing, to have the washers and dryers working correctly. Also, one of the dryers kept turning off before the load was dry.
All in all, a decent stay here. We would stay again but this facility does not stand out above the crowd.

Thank you for your kind compliments concerning our team members and your visit with us. We're glad you enjoyed your stay, noticed the completed rennovations and will be back for another visit.

Following your suggestions we added the extra dryer to the guest laundry and placed both our ski shuttles into operation. With the fresh 3 feet of snow, it should have been more obvious to increase the frequency of our transportation. Wait time for transport now is less than 5 minutes.

Thank you

I stayed at the Legacy Suites, their other property in town. It wasn't listed so I couldn't click on it to review. On arrival there was no toilet paper in either of the two bathrooms but overall it was a very clean, nice place. After checkout I was charged a $3.99 "resort fee" for parking, long distance phone calls, and business center use. First I was one of 5 cars in an otherwise empty parking lot, never made any phone calls, and don't even know where the business center is! Sure it's only $3.99 but it wasn't disclosed that resort fees would be charged where I made the reservation. Just beware!

Thank you again for your observations. There is no excuse for your unit not to be supplied with toilet paper. I was pleased to learn that our team members resolved that issue within minutes. Rest assured it won't happen again.

The resort fee includes those items you mentioned as well as unlimited coffee, WiFi and supplies for the kitchen, complimentary shuttle service to town as well as the ski mountain and all activities and games.

Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to your next visit.

Taveling with 3 children. Loved this one bedroom suite. This was like an apartment with full kitchen, bedroom, two full bathrooms and a queen foldout couch. Indoor pool was nice. There were several closets. This would be a good place for an extended stay. They allowed a one night stay, as we were just passing thru. Not great for a handicapped traveler. There were stairs you must take to the lobby.

We stayed here for 8 days in July/August 2012. There were 24 families in our group...baseball teams for the Triple Crown World Series. This property was EXCELLENT for this type of group. Kitchens, bathrooms, and rooms were fantastic. Lofts had UPSTAIRS and DOWNSTAIRS A/C units(both worked great), but we had the window open part of time because it was so cool. The two bedroom unit was HUGE. There is a large gameroom in the "basement" complete with pool, ping pong, air hockey, TVs, Wii, bar area, and card table. Indoor pool with two hottubs are located on the main floor. Outside patio and grills were an excellent place to relax and cook dinner. The tennis courts were run down, but a super place for wiffle ball, dodgeball, etc(remember, we had LOTS of boys) without bothering anyone. Legacy is closer to town, which means it was closer to most of the baseball fields. The views were still great. Budget friendly. The only negative it there were ONLY two washer/dryers(free though) for the whole complex.[FYI-there is a laundromat next to CIty Market grocery store.) We would stay here again in a heart beat.

Room Tip: Upper floors have more of a view.

We stayed in a two-bedroom unit on the top floor during a hot week in July. The problem was that the bedrooms were upstairs in a loft-like arrangement. Kind of nice except the motel-like air conditioner was on the ground floor mounted on the outer wall. As we all know hot air rises - cooled air doesn't. That meant the bedrooms were hot at night and pretty much impossible to cool down. However, this is where the real positive for this place came into play - a great staff. They were glad to loan us a fan to circulate the air and make our bedroom tolerable. I suspect the other rooms are like motel rooms and the air conditioners work fine.
Also, this two-bedroom unit was pretty tiny for 4 people. In the living area was a dining table with four chairs and one couch capable of seating 3. There simply wasn't any room for another comfortable chair or two for such things as watching TV or reading at night. I spent a night or two at the dining table trying to read.
The kitchen is also tiny but that was OK for us. It is so small there is no room for a dishwasher.
There is a nice indoor pool and hot tubs. For the BBQ grills outside, the staff will furnish utensils. When we grilled, I took the dirty tools back to the front desk and asked if I should clean them. The response was, "You are on vacation. We'll take care of it."
Bottom line - great staff stuck in a mediocre facility. Oh, did I say it is an UGLY building?

Although it is an older building we stayed in a newly remodeled studio unit which was small but comfortable with A/C during hottest week in Steamboat in years - they set at least one high temperature record while we were there in June. Indoor pool and hot tubs were great for my grandson! They had a gas barbecue grill for guests on an old outside deck which needs an update! It would be a great place for a fire pit and outside seating since the condo sits high on a hill. 2 free washers and dryers for guests although one of the dryers was not working. Staff were friendly and helpfull!! Had a car, but we walked down the hill to restaurants and a small strip mall area with grocery and other stores. No onsite restaurant.

Room Tip: Hallway sign said "Ski Lockers" on a door which actually was also the doorway to many gues...

A bit remote on the hilltop, so it's inconvenient to walk to any stores. The shuttle service or a car is a necessity here. Funny, I was here the same time as the last reviewer and found the shuttle service quite prompt all week, and never couldn't get on the arriving van. The drivers were my favorite people, with suggestions where to eat, things to do. If you hate taking a shuttle, drive to the ski area, there's free parking. The indoor pool was too cool for my taste, but the two hot tubs fit the bill. The one bedroom room was lovely and roomy. Dislike on those heater units though, too noisy. Laundry downstairs with soap provided. Friendly staff at the desk.
