“Amazing Family Ski Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

We have been to Steamboat many times, but have never stayed in a place so conveniently located with friendly staff and wonderful accommodations. We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit and loved the little extras (donuts in the lobby in the morning and s'mores by the fire pit in the evening). We forgot a few essentials and the front desk staff were more than happy to set us up with complimentary replacements. The steam room in the locker room was wonderful after a long day of skiing, as well as the heated pool and hot tub. Although an easy walk to Gondola Square, the shuttle was an easy and convenient way to go back and forth. Moe was our driver every time and he was always friendly and helped us with our equipment getting on and off. We would definitely stay at the EagleRidge Lodge on our next visit.

My wife, son, and daughter stayed over MLK weekend. I like to review places during their busy times because I know that if you can handle the volume and stress of peak capacity you can handle anything. EagleRidge Lodge nailed it! Great service, great location, and just the right vibe for our family of four. I interacted with the Front Desk staff and Shuttle drivers and all were outstanding and helpful. We arrived ahead of schedule and were happily checked in early since our room was ready. We had a 2 bedroom in the main lodge (there are also separate town homes on the complex) and it was classic western themed Steamboat. It was nicely appointed but also casual enough that I did not worry as the kids made themselves (overly) at home. The shuttle to the slopes was punctual but any avid skier would find the walk less than the typical trek from a resort parking lot so we opted for a mix of walking and riding. The gym, pool, hot tubs (separate adult and family) were all great but admittedly I spent more time on the slopes as the skiing was outstanding. I would choose EagleRidge Lodge for all my Steamboat trips.

This was our first trip to Steamboat Springs. We had a family group of 8 (parents, young adult children with spouses and/or fiancé). I booked at EagleRidge lodge based on the Tripadvisor ratings, and was not disappointed.

We rented the four-bedroom unit in the main lodge. I am told that this is the only four-bedroom unit in the complex. It had a nice layout, all on one level. My family really enjoyed this unit based on the layout and amenities. There is a full kitchen, which was used frequently (daily for breakfast, and a few other times for other things). There is a living room area and a large dining room table that probably could seat up to 10 or even 12 if needed. It is an open floor plan, with the kitchen, living room and dining room all open and conjoined. The bedrooms had various bed configurations, but 3 out of 4 bedrooms had regular beds (king, queen, and a double I think), and one room had bunk beds (but with a lower level that was larger, probably a double I think). Anyway, it worked out well for our group. There were gas fireplaces in the main living room area and the master bedroom. There was a balcony off of the living room area that looked out over the pool and hot tub area. The master bedroom also had its own small outside balcony.

It was very cold when we arrived, but the room was warm and toasty. It seemed to be free of unwanted breezes. So, it appeared to be well sealed from the outside weather.

EagleRidge is located relatively close to the slopes. It is not ski-in/ski-out. In fact, it really is too far to walk in ski boots. Plus, I could not see sidewalks. I presume that they are there, but in the winter, they are buried in snow and evidently not plowed. So, you have to take a shuttle everywhere. Free shuttles are provided to the slopes, and also to town. The shuttles to the slopes run every 10 minutes during the ski day, and the shuttle to town runs every 30 minutes. That generally worked out okay, apart from some occasional waiting around for the shuttle (as expected). The shuttle does not make airport pickups or dropoffs. You are on your own for that. Go Alpine is the shuttle service that we used for airport transfers from Hayden Airport, and that worked out well.

In the lobby at EagleRidge, they provide coffee and hot chocolate, and occasionally cookies. There is a donut platter in the morning as well if you so desire. One afternoon, from 4 to 6PM, they also had a free wine and cheese bar. So, these are some nice touches. The staff, down to the person (literally, every one of them that we came in contact with), was really friendly and helpful. I had read that about the property, but confirmed it for myself. They really try to be helpful. The front desk is not staffed throughout the night. It is staffed from early morning to late evening. We had a 4:15AM shuttle departure to the local Hayden airport, and the staff made accommodations for that. So it worked out fine even though no staff person was actually in the lobby/reception area at that early hour of the morning.

There is a ski locker area just inside the front door, off of the main lobby, where skis and poles can be securely stored. That works well. You wear your ski boots to the room.

The outdoor pool and hot tub complex was very nice. There actually were 3 hot tubs. Two of these were in an adults only section, on the other side of the cabana in the middle of the pool complex. The 3rd hot tub was next to the actual pool, where the kiddies were more likely to be playing.

EagleRidge Lodge seems like a relatively good ski lodging value. I have skied all over west on family ski trips. True ski-in/ski-out lodging is the ultimate, but you really pay a premium for that. So, a place like EagleRidge, being close to the slopes, but not actually on the slopes, buys you much more lodging for the dollar. I think it was a good value for a holiday time period (around New Year’s eve and a few days after).

EagleRidge is not really a luxury property. The lobby area was nice, warm and inviting with a fireplace and the classic western wood and brick color scheme. But, I would not consider it luxurious. Our condo unit on the inside, however, was really very nice, probably as nice as almost anywhere else that we have stayed in Colorado, Utah or elsewhere. Overall, I would agree that EagleRidge merits a 5 star grade because it hits is niche really well. I would definitely stay there again if we planned a future ski trip to Steamboat Springs.

We have been coming to Steamboat Springs for 12 years and after finding Eagle Ridge Lodge, have stayed here for the last 10 years in a row. This is a great place to stay. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The views are magnificent. If you still have the mood to work out after a long day of skiing, the gym is small but has everything you need. There are 3 large Jacuzzis outside by the heated pool. The plush bathrobes and Aveda amenities are a nice touch. Best of all is the amazing staff. Jenn, the General Manager, is always gracious, kind and welcoming and she has a great team supporting her. We always feel so welcomed when we visit Steamboat and Eagle Ridge Lodge and plan on coming back again next year for another amazing ski trip. And hopefully we will come visit this Summer for another unique experience. Beth and Adam from Florida

Room Tip: Mountain view rooms the best but all rooms are nice

All seven members of our family returned for another fabulous visit at Eagle Ridge. We spent the last week of the year here in 2012 and are back for another week of exceptional service in 2013. Led by General Manager Jenn Warren, the staff delivers top notch customer service and Is always smiling. A typical day begins with freshly baked donuts and tasty coffee In the lobby. When you are ready to head to the slopes, a shuttle bus whisks you to the nearby gondola which is also a short walk. After a day of skiing, a heated pool and several hot tubs help sooth tired muscles. I highly recommend this fine facility.

Eagle Ridge Townhomes ( not the lodge itself but the town homes right next to it ) is the absolute best place to stay in Steamboat. If you want to stay in a home away from home, this is the place. The townhome we stayed in was the 4 bedroom/4 bath. It was gorgeous with a western décor of leather couches, warm hues, granite counter tops and a fully stocked kitchen with huge island. Two huge decks, one off the great room and one off the bedroom downstairs. Master bathroom was huge with big soak in tub, shower and double vanity. Unit could easily fit a family of 8-10. The views were gorgeous and the location was perfect. Only a 5 minute drive to main street, ski resort and easy to get to local hikes. We were very happy with our decision to stay at Eagle Ridge and enjoyed evenings by the fire with wine and cooking. The townhome was so comfortable we chose to cook more than we went out to dinners! Looking forward to going again and appreciate past reviews of Eagle Ridge. It won't disappoint!

Room Tip: Our townhome faced the mountains with great open views. Some units have other town homes in front of...

Our family of six was upgraded to a town home. Not only was the 3 story unit a showplace, but it also had everything we needed, including a washer and dryer. Our balcony overlooked the fire pit, pool, and hot tub. The lodge is close to everything Steamboat has to offer, and the grounds are immaculate!

Room Tip: We booked through Expedia and saved $600 on our 3 night stay. Rooms overlooking the courtyard might...
