My family and I stayed in a two bedroom suite, which was very spacious and with a gorgeous view of the Gondula. Unfortunetly, the 'Front Desk' has no idea what customer service is. I even had to speak to the manager, Katherine, who was very rude and short when I spoke to her on the phone, plus she actually hung up on me! The 'Bell men' are very social and very nice. If you need anything, don't even bother with the front desk, go straight to the bell men. Gene was one of the guys working and was very helpful! Another downfall was the torn comforter and the blinds. It would have been nice to have had curtains to block the sun that was able to peak through the blinds when closed. And last, 'Chaps' has great food but slow service. Hope this helps for some of you researching this hotel..... Also, I really recommend "The Butcher Shop" for dining out. Great food and family owned. And "Strawberry Park Hot Springs" is a must see along with "Fish Creek Falls".

Nicest accomodations we had on our 3 week cross country trip. Huge unit that was well laid out. Pool area was great. Hotel is beautiful. Kids loved the place. BUT Steamboat doesn't have much to do and isn't really that scenic or quaint. If the town matters to you, then look elsewhere in CO.

First, I know it is hard for hotels to guarantee early check-in and late check-out, especially on heavy turn over days, however, I asked for an early check-in when I reserved the room and they said call the day of arrival. I called them hours in advance of arrival and we still did not get into our room until 20 minutes AFTER the normal check-in time. We then requested a late check-out, they said call in the morning so we did and they said no. Friends saying longer told us the place was empy the next day. If the Grand's policy is no early check-in or late check-out, that is fine, but I wish they would have said it up front because this process was irritating and a waste of time and phone calls.

We have just returned from three days in Colorado Springs and really enjoyed our time at the Steamboat Grand. We stayed in a one bedroom Suite and for our family of four this was perfect. I am reluctant to say, maybe even too spacious. This property is in close proximity to those wanting to ski and those of us wanting access to the gondola for some summer hiking. We ventured into town for dinner two of the evenings and it was extremely close. The outdoor pool was a great way to unwind (kids and adults). We also enjoyed the convenience of in between meals (as kids always need to eat) and the fridge, microwave, and dishes were a great option for our family.
Don't hesitate to book this property - it was a great experience for our family.

    • Disliked — The bed was very hard. I prefer a little more cush.

Stayed at the Grand for my first ski vacation ever and it was just GREAT.
We got a room that far exceeded our expectations at a VERYreasonable rate (we booked in advance)! Everybody was extremely friendly and helpful - but the concierge Carolyn deserves a prize for her patience and helpfulness!!!!! The Housekeeping staff is fantastic...left us clean towels every day even though we didn't leave them on the floor to be changed......thumbs up for you guys!!!!!
The pool/hot tub area and gym are excellent!!!
We didn't dine at the Grand but had roomservice once - good food even though the soup of the day was sold out! Would I visit Steamboat again - YES!!!! Would I stay at the Grand - no doubt about it and my american boyfriend feels the same!!!
