Owner description: Grizzle-T Dog & Sled Works is a dog sledding tour business located in Steamboat Springs, CO. Family owned and operated by Iditarod Musher, Kris Hoffman and his wife Sara. In business since 1996, we offer both “Learn to Drive” dog sledding tours where we bring you out and teach you how to drive your own team (typically 2 people/sled with one starting as the driver and 1 being the passenger and then switching half way around the trail) or “Guide Driven” tours where we drive the sleds for you and you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful Colorado mountains at the speed of dog. Our 12.5mile backcountry trail is located on a private ranch just west of Steamboat. Our pristine (groomed) trail snakes through Colorado’s mountainous ranch country traversing over ridgelines, through canyons, open meadows, and everything in-between. Views include the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Sleeping Giant, The Zirkles, The Steamboat Ski Area, the Valley and much more...with the occasional spotting of wildlife!

“A MUST if you visit Colorado”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

That's right Colorado... Not just Steamboat. This is a must do and you won't regret a minute of it. Be sure to take the tour where you drive yourself because it is definitely worth the experience. The dogs are amazing and very friendly. You will go on a very long tour... The longest you can go on in colorado probably.... We compared with customers with previous experience... And this place us also very hands off. You will be able to take as many pictures as you want and you can have a hot after afterward courteous of the owne. Super nice people and an amazing experience.

“Experience you can't miss out on”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

We took an afternoon off of skiing and went dogsledding at Grizzle T. We were picked up at our hotel and driven out there, just on the outskirts of town. When you get there you are greeted by over a 100 alaskan huskies barking like crazy in anticipation that a ride is soon to come. They have heavy duty clothing to secure your warmth during the ride. It seems so intense, yet these dogs really do 90% of the work...they LOVE to run. There is a 15 mile trail that was beautiful to take in and the ride. Although its not inexpensive, its a lifetime experience not to be missed!

“Put it on the bucket list!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2012

So it isn't something I could afford to do every year, but it is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide and also the owner, Tami, is passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly. She really knows dog sledding and the local area history. She is an ambassador to the Steamboat area.

“Wow”

Drive Your Own Dog Team!
A great experience, the dogs and the team all were very friendly. A great way to see the scenery.
We had a sleigh between us and took it in turn to drive and ride. The dogs love more than the tourists.
A must for dog lovers. All the guides were very knowledgeable and helpful.

“OMG! Was this fun or what?!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2011

A must-do when in Steamboat. Guides and staff - patient and helpful. Equipment - pretty easy to learn. Dogs - the best! Never did ANYTHING like this before, nor do we know anyone who has, and had the best afternoon! Not only are you going through the most beautiful scenery, it is just flat-out fun! (Even when I laid the sled over in a snow bank, and the dogs looked back at me like "What???") Pricey? Yeah, but we thought it was worth it for the experience and the fun that we had.
