“Possibly the best value in Steamboat Springs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Loy, the owner?, is very nice and bends over backwards to make you comfortable. The lodge is in a great location, an easy walk (even in the snow) to many good restaurants and bars. It is only 3 miles from downhill skiing! There is a free bus that stops right in front of the lodge in case you don't want to walk through town or if you want to take it to skiing. The Alpiner Lodge is not a 4 star hotel, but it more than met my needs.

Loy helped us with our stay and was more than accommodating. She treated us like family, was warm and welcoming, and gave us great information. It's a very down home, cozy place to stay and it's located right down town and right across the street from the bus stop. It only takes ten minutes to get to the mountain. Will definitely be staying there again. Thanks, Loy!!

We decided to go to Steamboat for a long weekend. We chose the Alpiner Lodge because it allowed dogs. The price was just over $100/night, which is great for Steamboat during peak season. The owner, Loy (I believe that was her name) was so accommodating and very pleasant. On the Monday when we were supposed to check out, my boyfriend ended up having to make a bunch of business calls and we really wanted to go to Strawberry Park. He finally finished his work around 3 p.m. and went and talked to Loy about check out times. She told us to leave whenever we pleased and wouldn't charge us any extra for staying in the room until 6 p.m. I have NEVER been to a hotel that wasn't extremely strict on check out times and that wouldn't charge you for checking out so late.

Yes, the place could use updates, but who cares! Updates are expensive and this most likely isn't a hotel chain, so updates are probably coming out of the owners pocket.

I would highly recommend the Alpiner Lodge!! You honestly cannot beat the service, location, and price!

Just spent a great weekend in Steamboat at the Alpiner Lodge. I work under the assumption that a hotel room is a hotel room is a hotel room, it will never be as nice as my own home, and I don't expect it to. That being said, the people are what make the Alpiner a hotel I would recommend.

We arrived late and were cheerfully greeted! We found our room clean and ready to go, stocked with Balance Bars and Champagne, wonderful extras we didn't expect. Needless to say this is the best service I've ever received at a hotel.

The rooms are plain and clean, but when you're in Steamboat you're not supposed to hang out in your room. Splurge on a great meal at Cafe Diva, and book a simple room at the Alpiner!

Dealing with Loy and staff on the phone has been a dream come true. They put us on a waiting list for Valentine's weekend and promptly called us the same day to offer us a room. Loy is so great to deal with and we can't wait for our stay next weekend. She even asked the name of our Dog!

For the price that you pay $125 per night, you get more than you will dream. I love this lady that took care of us like we are kings. Me and my wife more than happy and waiting to go again.

Our family tries to head to Steamboat each year and last time we stayed at the Alpiner and had a great experience, but this time it was even better. Loy greeted us with joy when we arrived. We were pleased to see the recently rennovated lobby, it looks great. We returned from dinner to find a bottle of Prosecco in our room and drinks for the kids. The room was very spacious and had brand new bed linens and a flat screen TV. Parking is easy and we never had to move our car, we took the bus everywhere. This is a great choice for a good value stay in town. We will be back.
