“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

The main thing this hotel has going for it is the location. It is right in the middle of everything. We could not have asked for a better location. The hotel also had a lot of activities such as yoga, bbq, etc. It was also very well priced for the summer time (including free parking). However, I found it difficult to sleep because of a variety of noises. First, the pipes are extremely loud. You can hear when any other room turns on their water. So loud that it even woke me up. Also, the blinds over the windows are ridiculous - you have to yank on a chain and spend 5 minutes to get them all up and down. Also, the light came right through the sides of the blinds so it was extremely light in the room as soon as the sun came up. Lastly, you can hear when the neighboring rooms are putting up/down their blinds. I coulnt believe how loud it was. The hotel really needs to change these and just get normal curtains you can pull closed like in every other hotel. Overall though, the hotel was definitely worth it because of the low price and location.

Room Tip: Make sure you do not have an adjoining room because you will hear everything coming from the other r...

We LOVED this place! We were trying to stay in Aspen, but arrived late and it was a a busy time in July so there weren't many vacancies. We wound up taking the ten minute drive to Snowmass and let me tell you, it was awesome! The room was gorgeous! They gave us a room facing the pool, it was so spacious. Beds were lovely! Lobby was very large and inviting! We checked in quite late and they wound up giving us a pretty good rate. We wished we could have stayed here longer! Parking was free and plentiful. The next time we are in the area, we will be staying here!

Room Tip: Request a pool view! :)

We stayed for two nights in the off-season. Given that we usually stay at the St. Regis in Aspen, we weren't sure about what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the mountain. We had to wait for our room, but the bell service was prompt. It was not a hardship to wait as we enjoyed the deck area overlooking the town of Snowmass and mountain. The creative cocktails were exceptional and just what we needed after a day of driving from Denver. The valet service was a great bonus as they even washed our car. The pool area is a bit small, but the hot tubs were a luxurious addition for day or night. Breakfast both days was tasty with the portions so large that we shared the second day. We plan to return next month with friends and have gained a new appreciation for Snowmass.

I completed a two night stay at the Westin Snowmass. A recently renovated hotel, the entire hotel is in excellent condition and kept immaculately clean. The hotel is located just steps from the food/shopping of the Snowmass Village Mall and the Sky Cab gondola to the lower village.

As a summer visitor, staying at the Westin Snowmass, has its perks including (1) a 20% discount on bike rentals at Four Mountain Sports and (2) bike storage through the valet. Also, parking during the summer (at least) is free in the village lots located ~5 minute walk away.

My room, located in the Village Mall Level, was certainly the closest to the lobby and had great views of the Snowmass Village and the accompanying slope. Also, the hallways in the Village Mall Level are short; therefore, there aren't too many rooms in this part of the hotel. As a solo traveler, the room was definitely an adequate size. Moreover, I chose the hotel for its proximity to mountain activities; not for its room size.

Despite the excellent hotel facilities and the prime location in the Snowmass Resort, the staff is just average in comparison. While certainly friendly, the staff didn't exhibit a willingness to go above and beyond for their guests and make a resort stay extra special. For paying a discounted summer rate, I'd be more apt to give the service a pass. However, to be a legitimate winter destination resort, this is the main aspect of the Westin Snowmass that needs to improve.

Room Tip: Village Mall Level rooms have good slope side/resort views. Also, Village Mall rooms are closest to...

It was our 45th anniversary and we made reservations for a king suite overlooking the mountain. The weather, the music , the bike riding and the atmosphere were very nice, so we asked if we could stay another night as long as we would not have to change rooms. After being assured by the front desk that an extra night in our room was no problem, we bought tickets to the concert, chairs for our picnic and a basket of picnic goodies. While delivering them to our room, the front desk informed me that we had to leave our room right away that other guests had been booked into our suite. Although, we were very unhappy to have to change rooms in the middle of the day, the front desk assured us that they would send someone to help us ( did not happen). I also asked that the manager give me a call (did not happen). We had to carry our luggage and belongings down the stairs (the elevators were not working). After settling in to the new room, I again tried to reach the manager. I left a message and still have not received a call 48 hours after our departure. This room costs about $500 per night. Really not a good value and not a good experience. There is no room for chairs on the balcony, The view was of a field that had a sprinkler running constantly for 3 days (we reported the problem but they continued to water a flooded field).

Room Tip: Choose the Viceroy Hotel. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and free shuttle service around the mou...

Stayed at the Westin during a summer vacation to Snowmass Resort and left there unimpressed and uninspired. It is a very nice property and has many positives - but could use improvement. The restaurant, lounge, and location is excellent. Service was less than stellar upon arrival. Felt very unwelcomed when we arrived as valets and check-in acted as if they really didn't want to take care of us or want us at their property. Just not very friendly... and that left a lasting impression. Room was nice but nothing spectacular. What they say on their web-site is a balcony room really is not... just a small area for one chair and small table. Really wanted to love this place but couldn't because if it's customer service upon arrival. Maybe it was just a bad day.

This "resort" has undergone a huge remodel. I think they spent all the $$ in the lobby. The rooms are the same weird shape. Balcony doors that cannot be opened because the single chair on the balcony blocks the door. The bathrooms are very small with absolutely no counter space. The staff seemed disinterested in providing good service. They were not rude, just indifferent. A big disappointment. We expected much more for Westin and the price.
