“Excellent ATV Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We took a four hour guided tour on side-by-side ATV's. Our guide was Ed and he knows the mountains around Silverton. It was raining when we started out, but Ed navigated us to some blue sky and then the weather cleared for the rest of the trip. Unbelievable sights and insights into the history of the area. We always felt safe as our guide would instruct us when to use 4x, high, or low so that we got maximum enjoyment out of our four hour tour. We really got a feel for the peaks around Silverton as we were over California Pass, 12,930 feet.

Mike P,
I cant tell you how happy to hear about your time with Mr. Ed! Had I known he could part the clouds and rain to blue sky, I would utilize him in a lot of other areas. At least send all other tours behind him!?!?! Ha, to clear the skies is quite the feat and I know he has the goods to show you the good stuff! Thanks for coming out!!

“Excellent Tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

As soon as we got off the bus in Silverton, we were greeted by a very cheerful older gentleman who called himself "Crazy Bob". He asked us how we wanted to spend the day after we toured the gold mine, and how much time we had. He offered to show us the museums and history of Silverton, or take us to the back country. We chose the back country. First he took us to a shady picnic area, and treated us to homemade and generously proportioned roast beef sandwiches, chips, soda and a cookie. He then brought us raincoats and helmets to tour the mine, where Ernie took over. Ernie was an enchanting storyteller, and he took us into the gold mine, and operated several pieces of equipment demonstrating life in a gold/silver mine. He told how the miners worked at carving out tunnels through the solid rock. He was lively and fascinating. After the amazing tour of the mine, Crazy Bob drove his suburban through the back country of SIlverton, telling the town's story as he drove through the scenic dirt roads. It was quite a treat. There was never a dull moment. Bob knew the best places to view waterfalls and see wildlife. He drove safely through streams and a shallow river. I felt confident that he knew what he was doing, and was able to take in the beauty around me. He also knew the area, and told of its history, lore and present day happens.
I would highly recommend booking your tour with San Juan ..., Crazy Bob, & Ernie are simply the best!

Angie A,

I would have to agree that Crazy Bob lives up to his name and provides some great experiences and Ernie has to be one the best at the Old Hundred! Both men have been around the block and the stories to prove it!! We hope to see you again soon!

“Very nice tour in the mountains!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4x4 tour with this company. It lasted 4 hours and we were lucky to basically have a private tour with our driver, Doug, who was extremely knowledgeable about the area (he's been driving for them for years). We debated between the 4x4 and ATV tour but after a tough hike the day before, we decided the 4x4 would work out better and it was perfect. Great summer day spent in the higher elevations of the Rockies.

John C,

I just wanted to say thank you for coming out and the wonderful pics. Doug is a great asset to the company, I believe he is one of our most tenured drivers. When it comes to taking you to some great, not so common places, he will get you there. See you next year!!

“July 4th adventure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

We had the time of our lives on July 4 thanks to "Crazy Bob"! The jeep tour exceeded our expectations and will be a memory we will share with anyone who will listen! We booked the tour last minute with the thought of escaping the crowds gathered to celebrate. It was the best part of our 5 day visit to the mountains! We were fascinated by the culture and history of the area as well as the spectacular beauty. Bob was knowledgeable and entertaining, the wild flowers were fabulous, the mines were amazing. It was the best money we spent in Durango/Silverton! These two middle-agers feel like we have really lived life on the edge! So exciting!

Kristen thank you for taking Crazy Bob out on the fourth. I know we all are honored to be the best spent $ on your trip. Crazy Bob makes us a great family owned company, we are blessed to have him. Hope to see next 4th!

“Bob is the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

We had the pleasure of spending our morning with our tour guide Bob a few weeks ago. It was wonderful. The outfit is professional yet relaxed. Our son is on the autism spectrum so we requested a private tour. Bob helped cater to him to create a great trip . We loved the mountain, the waterfalls and the ghost town mostly due to Bob's history and stories! Thank you for a great experience.
