Not as bad an experience as Nancy M, but we did not have a good time with a rental from San Juan Backcountry either, and would not recommend them. After reserving a RZR a month in advance of our trip, and being told this was not a problem, we arrived on the day and received a Kawasaki Teryx instead, which could barely climb and not keep pace with the other RZR that we had brought up to run with. We were told variously that 1) they only had one RZR and it had already gone out, 2) they only sent the RZR out on guided tours, 3) people don't know the difference between side by sides, so they don't honor requests for specific vehicles, 4) the Teryx is better than a RZR (not true unless you're on the farm mending fences). The kid checking the Teryx out to us only seemed concerned with how they'd know if we rolled it since it was so beat up. After a couple hours of going uphill at 4-5 mph and relegating our exploration to flat or downhill trails only, we gave up and took the Teryx back, $230 poorer and not a single bug in the teeth. The fun on this trip paled in comparison to rafting with one of the Durango whitewater outfitters.

We are so sorry to hear that your experience here was less than superb!! As a family business we strive to make your time with us as enjoyable as if we were out playing on our vacation. As we discussed before you left, as on our price sheets, all our units are rented as atv single seat, 2 up or utv, 2 seater or 4 seater. I wish we had the opportunity to talk when you got back, as I asked how my water bottle girl family did!! We have thrived on repeat business and would love any opportunity to make it right for you, come see me and we will give you the razor for the day. I will even throw in another aluminum water bottle, filled this time!!
