Never having been through Salida, we fell back on the old reliable AAA Tourbook for a place to stay. This particular Holiday Inn Express proved to be less than expected. Of course, compared to most of the other Salida hotels/motels, it's probably a small step up.

The room was average-to-small in size, and could have used a bit of updating. We were continually subjected to noise in the hallway, as well as the thumping-about of what seemed to be a convention of peg-legged pirates in the room above.

The hot water supply was poor, as was the performance of the showerhead. Taking lukewarm showers is not my idea of a good time.

For $89 a nite I expected more - a lot more.
