The Super 8 in Salida CO continues to be an excellent place to stay. We stayed there Sat. night May 10, 2008 and the staff was excellent. Made us feel they were glad we were there. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. Kids loved the pool. The continental breakfast was perfect for helping to get a quick start to activities in the morning. We will return to the Salida Super 8.

I am actually staying here right now. We came to ski Monarch, visit Salida and what a great choice to stay at the Super 8. They have a ski package... one of Colorado's best ski deals. Skiing 3 days, staying 3 nights, with equipment for less than $250 per person. The service is wonderful everyone is so friendly. The rooms clean & modern. Great pool area with three hot tubs. A great place to stay. And then there is Monarch. What an unbelievable ski vacation! The snow is wonderful, the terrain, all the challenge you need, the services and staff. Great. Do not miss this place. And then there is the great town of Salida. A Colorado Mountain Jewel.

The staff at the Super 8 in Salida, Colorado are beyond excellent. We've stayed there before, and they welcome us back like good friends.
The property is always clean, the reservations and amenities are always exactly right. The coffee is ready bright and early and their Continental Breakfast helps get my family off to a great start. Their winter ski package was a good value for our group of 10 people, covering 3 generations.
Everyone at the Super 8, from the owner to the manager to the desk clerks and housekeeping crew go out of their way to make every stay as pleasant as possible. It's the personal touch, the friendly smiles and the warm welcomes that set this property apart.

I saw all of these great reviews and was prepared to love this place. As far as the staff, both interactions were VERY pleasant. They were very helpful and I loved their little half-page handout on local restaurants/attractions. A simple concept, but so thoughtful.

The room was very clean and cheery. And all was well until we exhaustedly went to bed. The bed sagged in the middle. Now I weigh 120 lbs and my 6'3" boyfriend weighs 190 lbs. We're not heavy people, but we kept uncomfortably rolling to the center. No matter what I did, I could not get comfortable.

Granted we checked in on a busy night, but it was noisy throughout the night. We could hear people on the walkways talking, rolling their luggage noisily along. My boyfriend awoke in the middle of the night because he thought he heard thunder. It wasn't thunder. I had to find my earplugs in the middle of the night because I couldn't take it anymore.

The service/staff was excellent, but the bed and noise made for a very unrestful night.
