The staff at the Super 8 in Salida, Colorado are beyond excellent. We've stayed there before, and they welcome us back like good friends.
The property is always clean, the reservations and amenities are always exactly right. The coffee is ready bright and early and their Continental Breakfast helps get my family off to a great start. Their winter ski package was a good value for our group of 10 people, covering 3 generations.
Everyone at the Super 8, from the owner to the manager to the desk clerks and housekeeping crew go out of their way to make every stay as pleasant as possible. It's the personal touch, the friendly smiles and the warm welcomes that set this property apart.

I saw all of these great reviews and was prepared to love this place. As far as the staff, both interactions were VERY pleasant. They were very helpful and I loved their little half-page handout on local restaurants/attractions. A simple concept, but so thoughtful.

The room was very clean and cheery. And all was well until we exhaustedly went to bed. The bed sagged in the middle. Now I weigh 120 lbs and my 6'3" boyfriend weighs 190 lbs. We're not heavy people, but we kept uncomfortably rolling to the center. No matter what I did, I could not get comfortable.

Granted we checked in on a busy night, but it was noisy throughout the night. We could hear people on the walkways talking, rolling their luggage noisily along. My boyfriend awoke in the middle of the night because he thought he heard thunder. It wasn't thunder. I had to find my earplugs in the middle of the night because I couldn't take it anymore.

The service/staff was excellent, but the bed and noise made for a very unrestful night.

My family came into Salida unexpectedly on a Saturday night and planned a 2 night stay at a hotel a few doors down. Yuk! It was so terrible that I made a call that night to see if the Super 8 could accomodate us the following evening. Thankfully they could. Cindy in the office helped us with our reservation, and even allowed us to check in as soon as our room was available- hours before normal check-in. We have a family, and I was worried about my son missing his nap while switching hotels; Britt totally understood and much to my relief the switch went flawlessly and my son got right to sleep! :0) The room was very clean and comfortable and we could not have been more pleased with the staff. This is a terrific place to stay! Right across the street from the Hot Springs Pool and Rec Center. It is very clean, comfortable and the staff is friendly. They have an indoor pool, several hot tubs and continental breakfast. Two doors down is an excellent restaurant for breakfast before you go fish. This is my second stay here. Love it.
