By excellent, I don't mean it was palatial but very clean, well run, maintained, friendly staff.
Best prices in town.
Plenty of places to eat within walking distance

Arrived on a Friday evening with another family. Stayed in rooms 207 and 212 (2-queen beds). Rooms were very clean and the owners, Mark and Anna, were very friendly. Very clean lobby. Nice quite property.
Continental breakfast was okay, but no more than we expected for the great AAA rate we received.
This was a great place to stay for a one night stop over. When you stay at a one/two star hotel, you don't expect much, but because this motel is family owned, the owners take a lot of pride and it shows. I consider myself a "hotel snob" so I am really a tough critic. My husband and I enjoy staying at luxury hotels when we travel, but since our stop had to be in Salida, we had no choice but to stay where we could. I did some research to find the cleanest room we could find. After reading reviews on trip advisor, my husband and my parents decided to stay here. We were not let down...especially in cleanliness which is the most important factor when staying in a one star motel, much less any hotel room. From top to bottom, the rooms were SUPER CLEAN...as clean as four and five star hotels we have stayed at in NY, Rome, Paris and London! It looks like the owners have spent money on upgrading the carpet and beds (they were comfy.) The owner and his wife were really nice. In fact, the owner, from Poland, told us he purchased the motel a few years ago and said it was a real dump and they have spent the last several years making it nice. The other review from Arkansas doesn't make any sense...wireless internet and breakfast? This is a two star hotel for $69 a night, I mean you can't get it all!!!
We spent a lovely night here. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was great and the owner was very helpful. Definatly the best place to stay in Salida!
Asked for a non smoking room and got one that was supposed to be non smoking but had smoke odor and had obviously been a smoking room. Wireless came and went. Breakfast was marginal. Won't stay again. These people who gave it a 5 must have stayed in tents before.
