Creekside is a relatively new b&b (about 1 year old) located on the banks of the Arkansas River and below the shadow of some of Colorado's largest 14,000+ foot mountains.

This is a large log home with on-property access to hiking trails. There is a hot tub on the river, along with benches alongside the water for that romantic evening. It is easy to either spend your time here relaxing and enjoying the scenery, or getting to downtown Salida (about 10 min) to enjoy the rafting, fishing, hiking, and eating opportunities there.

LaDonna and Darren, the owners, are friendly, caring, and truly interested in their guests. LaDonna cooks up a mean breakfast every morning while Darren offers his guests a free welcome beer (while the rest are on the honor code). Their animals are friendly and always happy to snuggle with guests!

We stayed in the Bear Room, which was more than comfortable. Steam shower, heated floors, and a warm, fluffy bed to sleep in. There is a large television set and comfortable couches to relax in to watch their satellite tv or one of their dozens of movies.

Creekside was a great experience and I will definitely return!
