“The place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Very clean, modern and quiet. Marcia at the front desk was a delight, made check-in quick and recommended a good restaurant - Giovanni's, where we went for pizza, beer and wine. Pizza was good, wine not so much. I wish we could have stayed more than one night but our itinerary would not allow. This is the best place out of six hotels we stayed in during our trip to Colorado.

Arrived late.Tired from a long day driving and sightseeing. The gal at the check in was extremely accommodating in putting us in the quietest room she had.The room was at the perfect temp. when we walked in and smelled fresh and clean. It was quite large and very nice decor. The piece de resistance though was the bathroom. It was spotless,...and I mean spotless.I looked as hard as I could to try and find anything to detract from it's A+ rating but could not.The bed was very comfortable.Refrigerator was so quiet I didn't think it was plugged in.Free wi-fi worked well and fast. The room was so quiet and dark that we slept until 9:15am and when we woke we thought it was much earlier until we looked at the clock.Breakfast was not up to much but we were late getting down there so the pickings were slim. The hotel is in the process of opening a bar and restaurant on the premises and that should be a splendid addition. There are no elevators so if you have a lot of luggage staying on the ground floor would probably be best.We did not avail ourselves of the pool or hot tub so I cannot speak to those but from what we experienced with the rest of the property it would be safe to assume that they would be on a par with the high standards throughout.

Heater in hot tub broken, heater in pool broken, no elevators ( we were stayin on 2nd floor with heavy suitcases). Air conditioner unit in one room not working either. Overall, no high expectations for a town this size which proved to be right. It was fine for just one night.

We absolutely love this hotel. We stay here at least four times a year for a week. The beds are very comfortable, the room is great size, the breakfast area is very welcoming, the lobby is very comfortable to sit and read or relax, the staff couldn't be any helpful and nice. This hotel is by far the best place to stay in Rangely.

Room Tip: They are all good.

There were six of us traveling in 40+ year old British sports cars on Memorial Day weekend. We had traveled nearly 300 miles and had repaired one vehicle one the side of the road. By the time we arrived at the Blue Mountain Inn, we were tired and hungry.

The person checking us in, Hannah, said that there were no restaurants open at that time and because of the holiday. She suggested we go next door to the market that was closing soon and purchase food to cook. We asked her how we were supposed to cook and she said to use their propane grill. Continuing, she also said that we could use their plates, utensils, condiments, and spices for our dinner!

We did and had a great dinner that evening, thanks to the excellent hospitality shown by the staff of the Blue Mountain Inn. Everyone their went out of their way to make the six of us feel welcome and comfortable on a holiday weekend. The soak in the hot tub felt really great, also.

Our rooms were clean and quiet and after a good breakfast prepared by the Inn, we were ready for another day driving our vintage Britsh sports cars through the West.

All of us look forward to a return trip to the Blue Mountain Inn and recommend it as THE place to stay in Rangely, CO.

Reservation was done through company travel arranger. We have to detour for one day to Grand Junction due to weather; and the hotel gladly changed our reservation via phone.
The hotel is relatively new, and in good condition. Check in was done quickly. Rooms are standard, with TV and a desk with work lamp. Being only 2 stories high, no issue with water pressure here. Got shampoo and conditioner and soap bar - bring your own liquid soap if you are more into that type. Breakfast is quite all right, more choices than you expect from a small place like that. Rolls, juices, milk, bagels, packed oatmeal etc. However you still have to heat up your own bagels and oatmeals; no hot food served here. The best feature in the hotel is their heated swimming pool that enables some cardio workout even in winter. The front desk lady is so generous to let me use the pool very early in the morning before breakfast, when the official pool use is from 7 AM to 9 PM.

Stayed her one night. The first room we were in the AC did not work, so they quickly got us into another room. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was typical hotel fare. Coffee was not worth drinking, but everything else was ok. I thought the hotel was a bit pricey and there were lots of empty rooms. I would stay here again.
