“A sad decline”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

What used to be a fun and delicious place to eat had sadly declined to a point where it's just gross. The last time we went there (indeed, the "last" time), service was slow and rude, despite the fact that one of the owners (actually owner's daughter) sat at the bar on her cellphone, while tables sat piled with dirty plates. It appears the place has not been cleaned in months, and is dark, dank and actually smells filthy. It used to have one of the tastiest combo plates in town. Unless the place is steam-cleaned top to bottom, kitchen and bathrooms included, I'd avoid what was once one of Pueblo's best Mexican eateries.

“Take a chill pill and enjoy the food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2009

Time has stopped here at Grand Prix, a family dining establishment where clocks and normal restaurant bustle are nonexistent. The decor seems more befitting a biker bar than a Mexican diner and the service is... How do I put this delicately? Frankly, slow as molasses. That being said, the food is delectable, tasty and original. However, skip the chips as they come right out of a bag. Their award-winning green chile is heart-clogging and utterly divine with big swimming chunks of pork. All in all, Grand Prix restaurant has a down-home cockeyed charm, just don't get in a hurry.

Great food at inexpensive prices. Solid selection of Mexican beers too. Try the tejanas with green chile; it's a dish that you don't get everywhere.

“Possibly the worst in town...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2008

Everything I have had here, tastes the same. The green chili is tastes like rancid grease. They use velveeta-like processed cheese on everything. It is a family ran place, but you would know it because the staff consistently ignores their guests to watch television. The food is horrible, the service is the same. ANY place in Pueblo is better!

“Best Vegetarian Green Chili!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2008

Not sure if they still do it because I have not been back to Pueblo in years but I loved their Mexican food in part because they had two versions of their delicious green chili - one with pork and one without. I also loved the Tecates with a float of tequila on the rim, lime and salt.
