There is nothing historic about the riverwalk. It is a contrived attraction to benefit the town economically. And it has done so, and it's very nice. It is tastefully arranged and landscaped. The 'river' is water diverted from the Arkansas, to run through the concrete course of the Riverwalk, with eventual return to the real river. Through any given year, there are many special events held
at or near the Riverwalk, drawing locals and visitors in great numbers. There have been expansions over the years, and new money promised by the state for even more. It's location, running through the truly historic Union Ave. shopping area makes the whole work better than would the separate parts. I highly commend all those who devised and followed through on this project. It is one of the reasons we moved here.
