We're local Telluriders & enjoy the Angler & it's location in the San Miguel canyon. And generally, the restaurant serves very good food, with good service, but they're not always open when they say they will be. Check their website, but to be safe you need to call as well.

The rooms are clean and updated, which is a must. My wife and I did not like the shower head....it had a weak, wide spray pattern and no option to adjust. Also be aware the front desk personnel only work limited hours. When we booked our reservation, the information we received said you could check-in until 8pm. After finishing a long hike over by Red Mountain Pass, we began our drive over to the hotel with plans to arrive around 7pm. At 6:30pm we received a call (that went to voicemail due to the weak cell signal in the area) that said the front desk was closing at 7pm and to check with the restaurant staff to get our room keys when we arrived. We like extra towels so we can clean up after the long day of hiking as well as shower in the morning and the room only had 2 towels. We had to ask our waitress to find us some towels, which she gladly did. That leads me to the restaurant experience. This was definitely a bright spot. Our server was friendly and attentive. Every seat was full....including the bar. I ordered one of their specialty burgers with a draft beer and my wife ordered a salad with a glass of wine. My wife really enjoyed her salad and I was blown away by the burger. Seriously, it was one of the best burgers I've ever had...definitely Top 5. But don't get too fired up about the continental breakfast that is included with your stay. The restaurant isn't open for breakfast so they put food out on the bar. Everything is open for people to dig through and the choices aren't great, so I just grabbed a cup of coffee and headed for Telluride. We normally stay in Mountain Village but the gondola was down for seasonal maintenance so everything in Mountain Village basically closes down during this time period. I would stay here again under the same circumstances. We got a great deal on Expedia for $81, so even if you write off the breakfast and some of the inconveniences (distance from Telluride/Mountain Village, shower, no attendant on duty after 7pm), it is worth the price for a clean, updated room. I will definitely stop in for a burger even if I don't stay at the Inn.

Stayed for a night on a motorcycle tour of Colorado. Room was clean and comfortable. Beds were a pleasure to sleep in. Shower was fantastic. Glad that we picked the Angler inn, would stay here again for sure.

My husband and I stayed at The Angler Inn for two nights on part of a two-week Colorado vacation. We chose The Angler Inn based on it's reviews on Trip Advisor, it's proximity to Telluride, and it's reasonable price. Of all the places we stayed on the trip, the Angler Inn was by far our favorite. We stayed in a queen room, and although rather small, the room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The bed was the most comfortable of all the beds we slept in on the trip. Breakfast included make-your-own waffles, fruit, Greek yogurt, granola, hard-boiled eggs, and a selection of cereal along with coffee and juice. Everything was very fresh. There appeared to be only one person working breakfast, so at times she had trouble keeping all the food refilled and the tables clean, but it really wasn't a problem. We hope to stay there again next time we're in the area.

On a ski road trip, the Angler Inn offered comfortable clean rooms which you would expect. What was an extra bonus was the restaurant / bar at the front. It was an oasis between some place and the next. We went skiing the following day at Telluride, which was also a great little town and good size ski hill. Enjoyed Telluride, stayed one nite, two days of skiing then headed back to Angler Inn for lunch on our way outta town. Thanks for the visit.

We selected this inn because of its proximity to Telluride. We wanted the quiet and the price was more reasonable than in town. We requested and received a ground floor room when we made our reservations. Although understaffed they seemed willing to help in anything we requested. The desk clerk told me the ice bucket was in the closet and she had to fill it from the restaurant. Everything was clean and the bed comfortable. The room was large but had a minimal amount of furniture. There was very limited surface space on which to spread out our stuff. There was a small round table and 2 straight backed wooden chairs . Not real comfortable for long sitting.I believe this may have been a ADA room as the space around the toilet was large and there were hand rails. This did cut down on the space around the sink to put anything. There was a private patio off the room that was pleasant to sit on and watch the shadows change on the mountains as the sun set. Except for the lack of furniture to be able to spread out it was a great room.

Room Tip: See review.

We came across this hotel on tripadvisor, we planned on spending the day at Telluride knowing we don't care for large groups and hotels we wanted something smaller! We were very pleased with the hotel and resturant. Our bed squeaked with any movement...hence the lower rating. Would stay there again if we are ever in the area!
