We absolutely love this place! This bed and breakfast is perfect. Our extended family rents out the entire inn for one night each December.
There are 6 rooms - each unique and lovely. We have stayed there for 2 years in a row, and won't likely being going anywhere else for quite sometime.
The layout: There is a central family room with stone fireplace, 4 oversized comfy chairs, one loveseat, plenty of coffee tables, and a breakfast table. There are also plenty of smaller chairs to pull up and pillows to lounge around the fire on. Our extended family is 17 people and we were very comfortable! The family rooms is surrounded by windows with views of the mountainside and huge pine trees.
There is a lovely dining room with about 5 tables of 4 people each. The main floor also has 2 of the bedrooms and the kitchen.
The lower level has 2 bedrooms, an indoor hot tub and sauna. We stayed in the cheapest room and it was lovely. There is a queen size bed, dresser, suitcase stand, chair, and spacious bathroom. The room was immaculately clean. Attractive mountain décor, stone wall, plenty of windows, and modern amenities. The bathroom was simple – one sink, shower, toilet. But! The small, homey touches mean everything. There were 2 plush robes (heated by the vent), 2 clean glasses wrapped in cling wrap, attractive new soap, and the little triangle on the toilet paper!
The other bedroom on the lower level has a private full size hot tub and remote controlled fireplace. It looks lovely as well.
There is another bedroom in a separate, but very close by building. We just peeked in, but it also had an indoor full size hot tub and fireplace. It looked wonderful.
The upstairs attic is so fun! This is where all our kids sleep. It has a slanted roof and dormer – giving it so much charm! Our kids went up to their attic and we didn’t see them till dinner!
The service: Wow, I don’t know where this lady learned to cook, but OH MY GOD! We chose to have dinner at the inn on Saturday night as well as breakfast the next day. Our dinner was unbelievable! We had pot roast, sweet carrots, green beans, peppers, mashed potatoes, homemade oat and honey rolls, and an amazing lettuce salad. The homemade salad dressing was scrumptious with the salad. We loved the intimate atmosphere, the quiet (my grandmother has trouble hearing in a crowed restaurant), and the ability to excuse the kids to the attic when they were finished eating. I made the hostess promise to serve us the pot roast again next year. The owners were very attentive – refilling water glasses, getting us requests, etc.
We stayed up late playing board games and laughing in the family room.
The next morning we were served the perfect breakfast. We had stuffed French toast with cream cheese with blueberry sauce, veggie quiche, bacon (plenty to go around!), country potatoes, a (gourmet quality) fruit presentation, and orange juice.
The extra little touches are what make this b&b stand out in my mind. Everything is wonderfully professional, on time, clean, and lovely. We have stayed at several b&b’s in Colorado, but this is by far the best! For example: commercial ice maker is always full, lovely pyramid display of Meadow Creek coffee cups by coffee maker, boiling water dispenser for instant hot chocolate and oatmeal, properly displayed licenses and warnings, etc.
So, I would highly recommend you visit this bed and breakfast, but not the weekend in December we book it! Just kidding, it is awesome!
