“Christmas eve”

We have a tradition of going to Mozaic with old friends for Christmas eve. The food wasn't the best I've ever had but the ambiance and especially the violinist were outstanding. The creme brulee was our favorite dessert.

“Disappointing lunch”

We have brought our family to Moziac many times for the Sunday brunch and been pleased. This time we went for lunch on Saturday. What a let down. Three people ordered the French Dip and no one liked it - they said the meat was tasteless and stringy. The sandwiches with fries arrived cold. Two of us specifically asked for our entrees without onions - both arrived with them. There seemed to be only one waitress for the large dining room. The lunch took a long time to arrive, no one followed up and asked how the meals were or whether we wanted dessert. After waiting for 20 minutes to see our waitress , we finally walked out into the lobby to find someone who would bring us the check. We won't be back.

“Caution: Rave Review Ahead”

We decided to give the Mozaic another try after the mediocre meal we were served several years ago. With our LivingSocial voucher in hand, we found perfection. Perfect ambience, perfect service, perfect wine, perfect meal. We could not have been more pleased. An excellent wine began our evening....Vermonte, Casa Blanca Valley, Pinot Noir. It perfectly matched our meal which included yeasty rolls with herb butter, an attractive garden salad topped with their awesome Pear Viniagarette followed by a perfectly seasoned and beautifully cooked prime rib. The dessert menu looked yummy but we declined as we were full and very satisfied. The word for the evening is just as you would guess....perfect. We are very glad we gave them another try and will definitely make numerous returns. Well worth the drive if you live in the Monument, Castle Rock, south Denver or Colorado Springs area. Plan to spend (including drinks and tip) around $75.00-$100 per couple. One of our best cusine experiences.

“Little Gem with Great Food and Views”

This was the second time we visited MoZaic and the first visit for dinner. We had brunch for fathers day and it was one of the best brunches I have been too in a long time. Wonderful Buffalo Short Ribs and their desserts were small and fresh and didn't just look good. Watching the thunderstorm roll over the Front Range mountains was a treat too.

We decided to return for dinner on a Wednesday night and there were only about 10 tables seated so it was nice and quiet. We started with an amuse buche from the chef of asparagus and prosciutto and was a lovely bite. We then started with the jalapeno poppers that were filled with bacon, cream cheese and a hint of peanut butter and were wonderful! Our dirty martinis were smooth, ice cold and filled to the brim. We both had the flat iron steak, my husband the chef's special and I ordered off the menu with the blue cheese sauce. Steaks were cooked perfectly and we liked the fact that you could pick sauces and sides and that they were included in the price.

The flour-less chocolate berry cake was divine, just enough and not heavy.

Service was friendly and not too stuffy. The only wait we had was for our second martini as the bartender had stepped out for some reason.

With specials that change daily and a variety of menu options we hope to return soon and plan to tell our friends about this little hidden gem that should be a Colorado Springs destination!

“Sad brunch experience.”

We have been enjoying the brunch at Mozaic for several years and in the last several times the quality of the food and service had begun to deteriorate; however, we thought we would give them a try once more. It was a horrible experience in that the carving station / omelet chef (and I use the term loosely) was not the regular one; this man was more like a fast food cook and not a good one at that. He used his hands to pry the waffle off the waffle maker (one more than one occasion), and then gave it to the customer (who took it!). He used his fingers to assist in preparing an omelet. He used his fingers to remove a piece of pork and placed it on my plate - his finger nails were dirty!!!! My husband ordered his eggs over-easy and this chef tried to flip them, they stuck to the skillet and so he used his hand to put them into the garbage. He used the same frying skillet for an omelet and then made my husbands eggs. He used his hands to pick up the roast beef, etc.
The variety of foods both hot and cold has declined. While the bison short ribs were good - there was only one rib left in the server and was not refilled within our dining period. The refill of entres and fruit plates were inadequate to the number of diners present. The wait staff was less than efficient and while pleasant there were several incidents where they could / should have been more attentive. Their uniforms are black and show that they have not been changed in some time. we were there at 11:00am and the uniforms were sloppy and soiled. The hostesses are teenagers who do not know how to comport themselves. All in all, I think the same family owns this restaurant / Inn, but the quality of food, service and cleanliness has denigrated seriously. Not only will we not return, but we have shared our experience with many of our friends.

Thank you for taking time to let us know about your recent experience at moZaic. I am the owner and was out of town and am the usual person who is at the omelet and carving station during our Sunday brunches. I am very sorry I was not there to serve you.

Without sounding like an excuse, the chef we had earlier in the day at that station had a medical problem and had to be replaced by one of our prep cooks; someone who had not been trained to work in that environment. I sincerely apologize for his shortcomings--he has been counseled and reeducated on proper food handling techniques.

We do pride ourselves on having excellent food and plenty of it on our buffet. Attention to detail is one of our main emphasis and we apparently did not measure up to your expectations with our food, service, or appearance on that particular day. Again, I apologize for our short comings. If someone does happen to have a bad experience, we try our best to make it right. If you should chose to return to enjoy a future brunch with us, I would like you to call me at 719-481-1800 so I could host you for brunch to show that we can get it right.

Again, I apologize for your experience and hope that you will give us a chance to correct your perception of moZaic and our wonderful Sunday brunch.
