Owner description: As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies makes an array of honey based wines. We start with pure, raw Orange Blossom honey, then ferment it. We also craft fruit 'n honey wines. They're blends of mead and fruit wines such as blackberry, strawberry & peach. We also carry fortified dessert wines. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known to man and has a rich and interesting history. Stop in to our tasting room in the heart of Palisade, CO to learn more and have complimentary tastes of our mead.

“Friendly, accommodating and lots of fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

Thank you, Michael, for the tremendous level of personal service and attention given to us by yourself and your staff. We all left with a high respect and appreciation for the level of excellence that The Meadery of the Rockies puts into everything they do. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting experience and our personalized tour of the operation. The ladies that ran the tasting area were very pleasant and fun to interact with. Wonderfully unique and delicious products and friendly staff! We all thank you!

“Fun trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

The staff at the Meadery were so fun. They gave us five tastes of these scrumptious meads and a history of meads. There were sixteen of us in our group, and we all learned a lot about mead.
Just smelling some of them were wonderful. There was one that smelled of orange blossoms. I would go back and take friends with me anytime.
Make sure you put it on your lists of things to do in this area.
The only thing that could have made this better is a free bottle of mead, the honeyed drink I have read about and now know what it is.

“Great Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

If you are driving to the wineries in Palisade, CO you must stop at the Meadery! They give you free 5 tastings! So if you are with (my husband in this case) or a friend the 2 of you can try 10! We bought 3 bottles and honey. Great time and really good product. I really thought it would be too sweet for me.

“Best lip balm ever!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

What I learned was that I am not a fan of "Mead" as much as wine so I am very glad that they had tasting available. The skin products made with honey were outstanding, easily available, and the hosts/hostesses were gracious in encouraging patrons to try the many different products. Soap & lip balm = wonderful.
