Owner description: As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies makes an array of honey based wines. We start with pure, raw Orange Blossom honey, then ferment it. We also craft fruit 'n honey wines. They're blends of mead and fruit wines such as blackberry, strawberry & peach. We also carry fortified dessert wines. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known to man and has a rich and interesting history. Stop in to our tasting room in the heart of Palisade, CO to learn more and have complimentary tastes of our mead.

“Searching for Honey wine...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

We live in Colorado and see the Meadery from time to time at the farmer's market in Boulder. I first had the honey wine several years ago and fell in love. I am partial to the sweeter wines and my husband likes traditional wines but even this won him over. It is flavorful, smells of flowers, and is impeccably done.

They do not produce their wine with hops or wheat like other meaderies, which is better in my opinion, as I do not want beer, I want honey-wine.

Stop in if passing through, as Palisades is beautiful and the Meadery is quaint and welcoming!

“Un-bee-lievable!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Found the Meadery by accident, and what a happy accident it was. The mead is glorious, the selections were mind-boggling, but the service!! The lovely woman -- lost the name, starts with M? --who stayed late to assist us could give lessons in customer service to any retail outlet; very helpful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic about your great products. Our visit made a good day out of a loooong drive and left us happy and uplifted -- not to mention loaded with wonderful gifts. Just wish it were closer to W Washington! Certainly matches a visit and product variety of any of OUR staste wineries. Definitely worth a lengthy trip to visit.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

We had such a great time. This was recommended to us and we would definitely recommend it to others. The people were wonderful and the wine tasting excellent. The gift shop was also fun, and this is in a beautiful setting. Very worth seeing. Thanks!

“sooooo yum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

My husband and I LOVE their Mead and were so excited to go visit their home on a wine tour we went on in the Palisades. The Chocolate Covered Cherry and Peach Honey are to die for. Highly recommend a stop here for some mead!

“Great treat in Palisades, Co.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We were hosting some friends from Washington State to our homes in Colorado. We had met wine tasting in Washington, and being proud of the wines produced here in Colorado, we decided that Palisades would be a great start to their introduction of our Colorado. We hit 6 hand-picked favorite wineries of ours including the Meadery. The gal giving out the samples were surrounded by a large group of tasters but afforded each taster the attention, knowledge and friendship that great customer service brings. Our friends were very impressed and bought some bottles. We brought home a bottle of the raspberry chocolate satin. A great time was had by all!
