“Carpets not vacuumed, and filthy, time to call a professional to clean them”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

We stayed when it was very slow. We counted 8 cars in the parking lot, so they weren't busy. There was no excuse to not vacuum the hallways, stairways and common areas. They have a couch in a common area to overlook the mountains, but it had food all over it from the last person that sat on it. The furniture in the room was very worn. The sinks very cracked and old. Carpet filthy....time to have a professional come clean it. The property use to be a Holiday Inn, but I can see why it isn't anymore. Breakfast was ok. We wouldn't stay again. We stayed at the Econolodge for the same price, and it was much cleaner and nothing fancy, but clean, and the furniture wasn't worn out. They also vacuum their common areas.

Room Tip: Don't stay here

Beds were sagging in the middle, made for uncomfortable nights of sleep. But the hotel allows dogs, so double thumbs up for allowing us to travel with our two well-behaved large dogs! Hot tub was a good temperature, enough jets and heat to soak sore muscles after a day on the slopes.

This motel is probably the best in class for this area. The property is relatively modern with clean large rooms, good room amenities, and an indoor pool and hot tub. Most noteworthy is the selection of entrees in the hot breakfast buffet which is included in the room price. Situated between downtown Pagosa Springs and the western side of town, where many of the restaurants are located, the motel is located a short distance off the main highway making for a very quiet stay. Not the least expensive motel in town but the best place for overall value.

The man at the front desk was very unwelcoming and brusque at my arrival, setting quite an unpleasant, inhospitable atmosphere for my vacation. I am still very upset at his demeanor towards me when I checked in. Also, the hotel is older. One positive is that the rooms are large. The furniture is older. Have not tried the swimming pool and hot tub. Will not be returning back paying such an expensive price when the front desk acts like we are a bother.

We stayed at this hotel once before. They were so helpful this last trip. There was a death in the family and they were so accommodating and pleasant about everything. This last trip we did not get to use the accommodations. I do believe the pool was a bit cold on the 1st trip down. It is a great place to stay if you want a decent room for a decent price and it is close to downtown Pagosa. The breakfast has a variety of choices, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels and rolls.

I recently went to a wedding in Pagosa Springs and this property was part of the wedding plan. The indoor pool was COLD the Hot Tub was FILTHY there were no towels in the pool area and not enough towels for all guests we used our room towels at the pool for our kids and then were left with no towels until more could be washed... Then we still weren't given any clean room towels just pool towels. The beds were AWFUL most uncomfortable nights I have ever had to endure while on vacation. The room was DIRTY. The floor was disgusting luckily I did not let my children down there were left over pills and bullets under the dresser! The bed shams were so dirty they were a different color on the bottom. I politely addressed these issues with the GM/Owner but was shrugged off charged in full and not invited back. I don't think they fully understand the business they are in. I have been in this business for over 20 years and these folks could use a visit from Gordon Ramsey if not soon it may be too late. GROSS! I am writing this because Tripadvisor was listed on the door ;0(

Room Tip: Try a different Hotel in town.... Better price, Better rooms, Better Value somewhere else.
