“Strictly budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

Ok place to stay if you are looking for a budget hotel. The free breakfast is awful. I have stayed at Motel 6 that was better. I did not see anything wrong with the linens or the A/C but as I said its not a fancy place but works if on a low budget. I had a hot shower and a good nights sleep and that was it. Its a very dated hotel.

Room Tip: It was quiet. I stayed during the week.

The curtains were tattered and falling down, the carpet was dirty and crumpled in many places. The bedspreads had burn holes in them....Just not good. Needs a lot of upgrade but the people were nice and the adjoining bar/restauarnt was excellent.

As soon as I walked in the room I was surprised the awful musty smell. I turned the A/C on to help but it never really got cold in the room. Later that night some other hotel guests walked right into our room! I called the front desk several times to ask them why they gave some one else our room key and no one would answer the phone. The A/C continued to not be able to keep the room cold, and i noticed all to late that the sheets were full of rips and tears. Also, our keys did not work in the door for the rest of the stay. I have stayed in cheaper hotels that were not as ghetto as this.

I couldn't believe how nice this hotel was for as cheap as it was. It was also a great location right next to the Pagosa Hot Springs and Mineral Pools! Right across the street actually. They also had an indoor and heated pool (small but nice for when lightning occurs in the afternoon at the Hot Springs and you gotta go!) They also had a great little jaccuzi outside but still nice! And one of the best parts was happy hour at a little place in the hotel with great margaritas and beer specials. I would definitely recommend and go back!

The best thing was the location. It's directly across from The Springs, and with in walking distance to many things. Our only issue was that we all have allergies and especially our kids. Since it is pet friendly, we could tell as soon as we walked into the room. The biggest problem I had was as soon as you opened the door you get knocked down with the smell of dog urine! Everything is dated, the bathrooms however looked as if they had a new toilet and the shower was very clean. We did drop something down by bedside table, when my daughter reached for it there were underclothes, trash and other things between bed and table and under bed. We didn't even attempt the "free" continential breakfast. It was all cold food and nothing looked good to us. We walked down to a coffee house and had a great hot breakfast. I will say its fairly priced, but still overpriced for how run down and outdated it is. And they need to have only a block of rooms for pets so those of us that are allergic can enjoy our stay!

I stayed here on vacation with my wife, three kids, and large dog. They are pet friendly, but our room was on the second floor and I hate taking the dog up the stairs and through the halls. Even so, the room with two double beds and a pull out couch was pretty spacious. The furnishings were a bit dated, but things were clean and nice. Internet was included. They have free breakfast, but we got there at 9:35AM and they were closed. The pool is a small indoor pool with springwater and is not chlorinated. There is a small deck.

By far, the best part of this place is it's proximity to Pagosa Springs. It is right across the street from the Hot Springs with easy access to the river to go swimming or tubing. There is a park 2 blocks away that was having music festivals and the strip of stores was in easy walking distance. The hotel was average, but the location made it worthwhile!

Nothing too spectacular. It was clean, bed was okay. Everything is looking a little dated. If you're a family, probably great for price and location to springs. W/ AARP discount, our room was $72 + tax. The bed was starting to show signs of sagging to middle. There's not a whole lot of choice for restaurants w/in walking distance, so be forewarned.

Room Tip: Rooms in 2nd building on south side are next to a church. We were on 2nd floor, very quiet.
