“the springs are an absolute "must do"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

with 23 pools , the water content equals that of Baden, Baden hot springs in Germany, the view is to die for, right on the river, the staff is helpful, I live here and go as often as I can , yet the hotel while nice is not in my opinion worthy to the dollar paid, yet the upside of staying here is bathing in the springs in the early morning , having it all to yourself, while the river below lets off steam , PRICELESS, I am a budget traveler and would stay elsewhere and go to the springs , yet if money is no object , then by all means stay here , wrap yourself in their luxurious bathrobes, and spend the day soaking , you wont be dissapointed....

We're glad you enjoyed the therapeutic mineral water soaking pools. We strive to be competitive to comparable natural hot spring resorts and offer all hotel guests many additional perks. We'd like to thank you for your feedback and we hope you consider joining us again!

We have been going to the spring resorts at least 3 times per year as we do live 8 hours away. The spring is nice but the rooms are not well kept. The carpet is old and smells. The quality of bed, sheets, and mattress is worse than what you can find in a motel. The price of the room at $160/night does not match the quality of the room (the rooms are actually at $230 per night but taking away the $35/person resort entry fees makes the actual price of the room to be at $160 per night). The shower in the room had cold water and you could not get the water to warm up! The TV in our room did not work well. But do not bring any problems to the attention of the staff as instead of fixing the issue, they get mad at you for saying something......

Room Tip: Stay at an outside hotel

Thank you for sharing your issues during your stay at our hotel. It means a lot to the owners and management to have feedback on the areas where we can improve our accommodations and service. You will be happy to know, we have completed a recent remodel on many of our Deluxe Hotel rooms. The Classic standard building is next on the list, we understand that years of family vacations have worn many of these rooms and an update is already in progress. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correct our mistakes and make every future experience excellent!

We have been going to The Springs Resort & Spa in the fall for about 5 years now and absolutely love it!
We go there to soak as much as we can so have always stayed in the original hotel/motel side also know as the classic rooms and while the room are small they have everything you really need at a price that is more affordable than some other rooms in the newer portion.
The biggest advantage of staying at the resort is the 24 hour access to all the pools which is really nice for the late night/early morning soaks as your very likely to have the whole place to yourself!
The pools are of varying tempertures and sizes with some in the adult only section that are jetted so be sure to visit several different ones to find one that you like.

We ended up at the Sprigs Resort for an evening soak when we found out our hotels hot tub was out of order. Although it was an expensive soak, it was very relaxing. Great location and many pools to goose from. It was very quiet, people were very respectful.

We stayed at the resort and found it so relaxing. The 23 pools give a choice of temperatures. We appreciated the adult only section. By staying at the resort, we had 24 hour access to the pools. Tina was great at the check in. Shelly made sure our stay was outstanding.

We stayed at The Springs for a quick getaway from Durango for my husband's birthday. Very friendly and helpful lobby and concierge staff. Our suite in the EcoLodge was beautiful and well-kept, with a comfortable bed and more-than-adequate kitchenette. We weren't bothered by the lack of restaurant on site, because there are many choices within short walking distance. After all the relaxing, we were actually glad for the walk to and from the Alley House for dinner. Keep in mind the room prices include 2 full days of soaking.

This was my second stay at the resort. Both times the staff were very friendly and accommodating . The rooms are adequate. The springs are awesome. They have pools ranging from the Luke warm to lobster pot hot lol you can even take a dip in the river of you dare. The first time we splurged on the John Wayne suite , now that room was top of line. I loved it!! This time I stayed in room 416. It was adequate but was hot for some reason. No matter how cool I set the thermostat we were all hot. I love the resort overall and is such a great relaxing get away for the whole family!!!
