This was our first visit to this part of the country. The setting is beautiful and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed the activities that we did (The Springs Spa, rafting in Durango, horseback riding in Pagosa, tubing on the San Juan River). Our room in Ptarmagin (two bedroom lockout unit) was spacious, but outdated. We were told that it had recently been refurbished. There were new granite countertops, but the woodwork was old and scuffed, the light fixtures were old (maybe from the seventies) and the appliances were quite old. The rooms were clean and the beds were great. We are Wyndham owners, so we have been to many locations. This location does not meet the standards of other Wyndham locations. But in my opinion, it did not take away from our great vacation. The sales staff at the owner's update were kind and courteous. All of the other staff that we interacted with were very kind and helpful. We were disappointed that the recreation center was closed during most of our stay. We found other activities to do that filled our days. We did visit the recreation center on the last day. We were going to grill our supper one evening, but we noticed that they only had charcol grills, so we made our food another way in the condo kitchen. After all was said and done, we had a great vacation. But if we were to return to the area some day, maybe we would try to get two rooms at Wyndham Durango. We had two families, with a total of three adults and four children (ages 14-9).
