“what a beautiful bear!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

This is nice place to stop by for about an hour, as it's small size doesn't require much more time. We arrived a little before feeding time at 4pm. The highlights included watching the gorgeous mountain lion rub up against her fence to the call of "here, kitty, kitty" the wolves playing together, and the stunning grizzly bear. She came out of her den at feeding time, and when she stood up to her 7 foot height it was impressive to say the least. My only issue is why would they have an Emu on display, but no bison? And a few reptiles on display would be nice!

“Animal haven.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

This place has animals that can no longer be released to the wild. Ranging from a grizzly bear to an emu - there are only a few animals there but it is in a beautiful natural setting and they are very well cared for. Cost is minimal so it is worth going to.

“definitely go at feeding time - 2pm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

Small but fun for kids - feeding time is when you will get to see the animals best and get a short talk by the person working with them, but if you go 30 minutes before, buy some feed and go around and see the animlas without the extra people and let the kids feed the goats, donkey, sheep, etc.

Feeding time lets you watch them feed the larger, more adversarial animals,(bear, wolves, etc).

Athese are animals that canoot be re-introduced the wild, so the admission helps to keep them in good condition and educate the public on local wildlife.
We do not have children with us, but we enjoyed feeding the critters, too!

“Small, but informative”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

This is so close to Pagosa Springs that if you are there for the week, you should check it out, especially if you have kids. They have animals that are local and you can get up close. Go when it is feeding time (2 pm when we visited) so that you get the tour with someone that knows the animals and can give you the facts about their habits, lives in the wild, etc.

“Fun little find...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

We stumbled upon this little park on our way out of Pagosa and it was a lot of fun. The staff was so welcoming and informative when we encountered them throughout our walk through the park. The animals were healthy and pretty active when we walked through. We bought a couple things of food in the gift shop to feed some of the animals along the way. It was a little muddy but we had boots in the car so we didn't mind at all, it was a fun place to take a break from the car and strech the legs. Well worth the $7 entry fee we paid!
