This was probably the worst Best Western I have ever stayed at. Rooms were way overpriced for the quality and size of the rooms. The bathroom ceiling leaked water from the upstairs rooms and the showers were no more than a trickle of water. The advertised 'full' breakfast was no better than a continetal breakfast served in the lobby which had people standing elbow to elbow while trying to eat standing up. The 'hot tub' was a putrid green and looked just plain nasty. Look elsewhere for a room in Ouray CO.

Absolutely wonderful. We only stayed one night - would've loved to have stayed several. The view magnifincent. This little town is charming. Peaceful and quiet surrounded by God's beauty. Two awesome waterfalls. Eating establishments were limited at the time of year we were there but it didnt matter. Take a picnic to the Cascade Falls. Room was clean, full breakfast was great.
Cozy fireplace in check in area. Several swings and benches on site to enjoy the surrounding mountains.

“Jeep Rental poorly managed”

We did not stay at the hotel. We did call in advance to reserve a Durango. We had a party of 6 adults. We had reserved the vehicle for Tuesday. When we went to pick it up, we were told it had already been rented by someone else, even though our name was listed on their reservation sheet for Tuesday. The manager said that the Durango would be available on Thursday and he assured us that it would be there that day. He offered a $40 discount for our inconvenience. When we arrived on Thursday, once again, he told us it was not available. He did not give us the impression that he really cared whether we were upset or not. The only thing he did was call another location for jeep rentals. We had to rent two smaller jeeps to accommodate the size of our party. We ended up paying almost double what we would have, if our reservations had been honored as promised.
We will never visit this motel again for any reason.

“Does not invest in improvements”

This is the most expensive Best Western I have stayed in, and it is also the least in quality. It seems they rake in plenty of profits (I paid $160 for one night) but fail to spend money on improvements. Many of the hotel interior fixtures come straight from the 1970s, it's like a retro visit to the past. The breakfast is crammed into the hotel office, and you can hardly move around without bumping into other guests trying to retrieve a biscuit. The laundry rooms take an excessive amount of money. It's as if the owner of this property is trying to squeeze every penny out of the guests without re-investing it in improvements. The location is beautiful and I am guessing most of the guests at this BW are first time visitors to this hotel, attracted to the scenery. The location of Ouray does the selling for this Best Western and the property owner doesn't feel like he/she has to make the hotel nice - plenty of people will pay regardless.

Ouray is just as nice if not nicer than I had expected. However I was a bit disappointed with BW Twin Peaks motel. The room was clean but there was a huge crack under the door. We blocked the opening with a towel. I'm certain that the new management will fix this minor detail. There is a nice pool but we didn't get to use it because it was about 60 F. Continental breakfast was average but there was practically no room to sit down.
The staff was very nice and friendly.
