We have stayed at this hotel for probably the last 5 years for the week of the fourth of July as well as other times of the year. It is immaculately clean, tastefully decorated with many pieces of Turn of the Century Furniture. The owner is friendly and very knowledgeable about Ouray and the surrounding areas. It is located right in the middle of Ouray. Finally, we were very suprised at the reasonable price range for all the rooms. FIVE STARS to the Ouray Hotel !

We stopped at tourist info center & were told things were booking up fast & given a list of a few places still open. We bypassed this hotel, seemed *ify*, but we could not find anything else & checked in. Well, for under $80, it was the best room, the best location, the best bargain we had on our 12 day SoWest adventure. Simple, clean, perfect. Loved it

We really enjoyed our stay here at this quaint and charming small historic hotel. I have stayed in many historic hotels in my travels and this one was one of the most cleanest, well maintained old hotels I have ever been in. Our room (14) was very comfortable and felt like home. The big window let in alot of light and was able to open it. We had a very comfortable queen bed, antique dresser, a couple of chairs, tv with limited cable, a box fan is provided and a ceiling fan which I really liked that. As much as the room had alot of old-fashoined charm, the bathroom was very modern and spacious with a large walk-in shower which I like as I'm not fond of clawfoot tubs that alot of historic hotels have. The towels are thick and soft. The hallway is wide and bright with chairs and couches here and there. Breakfast is not provided but there is a coffee room that also has tea, a small soda machine (only 50 cents), an ice machine and microwave for guest use. The room prices are extremely reasonable. Our queen room was only $65.00.

Dale the owner is around the hotel alot of the time and will answer any questions or provide information on the town and activities. If he is not there he will make sure you have his number to reach him if you need anything.

The Ouray Hotel occupies the second floor of a corner building that has retail shops on the first floor. To get to your room does require going up and down a staircase to the second floor, but it was not a problem for us. The building is on Main St. and you can walk just about everywhere in Ouray... restaurants, shops, library across the side street, Ouray County Historical museum which is up the side street, Box Canyon Falls City Park.

If we ever come back to Ouray I would stay here again.

My Husband and I returned to Ouray for our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The Hotel is a Historic hotel right on Main street. Prices are very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The rooms are WONDERFUL, with high ceilings, period furnishings, ceiling fans, and cheerily colored rooms. EVERYTHING was EXTREMELY CLEAN and Neat as a pin. There is a coffee/refreshment room with fresh morning coffee, makings for Hot Chocolate, books to read, comfortable chairs, and a microwave. You are right on Main street, so you don't have far to go to get back to your room. The rooms have air conditioning, however, it was a treat to be able to open your windows to the fresh mountain air~Wonderful sleeping! It was fun to be in this special hotel, and wonder about all of the travelers who had walked the halls and stayed in this grand place a century ago! Dale, the owner, is very helpful on what the town and area have to offer. Pictures on the hotel's website show exactly how the rooms are. We had a Wonderful stay. We will definitely be back!

The Ouray Hotel is a great place to stay. It is located on the Main St in the center of town. The room was very clean and spacious. For less than $80.00 it was a great place to stay. The owner, Dale, is a wonderful hostess and all ways on site to be of assistance.
