“Awesome hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

We have stayed at this hotel every time we have visited Ouray. Beautiful rooms along the river with private balconies. Excellent breakfast & friendly staff!! It is also within walking distance (along the river) to the hot springs pool & trail head.

We booked Hot Springs Inn based on the recommendations and it was a wise choice. The staff is wonderful - friendly and help with everything from tips on where to eat or helping you get rags to clean your Jeep off after going off-road! The rooms are not ritzy, but comfortable, cozy, and most importantly clean! And we could hear the rushing water of the river a few feet from the balcony. There are nice paths on either side and a bridge to connect them - perfect to take an evening stroll. All that and we paid less per night than some of the shoebox hotels off the side of the freeway that we paid on the way out there.

All the comforts of home, but in a better location! The staff is friendly, the 2 king size beds are comfy, as are the pillows. The beds are pretty high, but they have a step stool in the room for those of us who are vertically challenged! The rooms are big, with a balcony looking over a babbling stream, an electric fireplace, refrigerator, microwave, even a safe in the room (that you can use for free), and a fabulous shower head. They even had good coffee (rare at a hotel) along with a nice variety of items on their breakfast menu, including hard boiled eggs and yogurt as well as an assortment of cereals, oatmeal, breads, and pastries. We used their gas grill to cook two meals and had lunch at their picnic tables. They had hot tubs, but we didn't use them.

The only downside was that the internet was very slow at times. Other than that, they did everything right!

Room Tip: If you don't want to climb stairs, ask for a room on the first floor. Our room did not have a tu...

Can you imagine a friendly greeting?! That's what we experience. Checked into our 3 night stay...opened the door to our room...saw an impressive cozy room with the view & sound of the river...didn't even unpack...back to front desk saying can we stay 4 nights; 3 will not be enough...every morning we were greeted by our first names & proceeded to enjoy a very breakfast in a very warm atmosphere...thank you to the entire staff...on every level we loved it & so much didn't want to leave! It was like a "home away from home"...highly recommend it...!

Room Tip: They all are on the river!

I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff was so delightful, the price was right, the rooms spacious and beautiful and right along the river! You are a hop skip and a jump away from town without being right in the middle of it. They provide a nice breakfast and all the help you could ask for! The Jacuzzis are right on the river and although we didn't use it, there is a grill as well if you don't want to go out to eat. I loved coming back to this place after long excursions, it felt so unbelievably homey. I would absolutely go back again and again!!!!

My experiences with small hotels in tiny towns in Colorado have been very positive, and the Hot Springs Inn continued this trend. The Front Desk people are SUPER friendly and helpful. They greeted us sincerely when we arrived in the mid-afternoon, and the same people were there in the mornings overseeing breakfast and checking guests out. They had great suggestions about stuff in town and I always appreciate that.

Our room had 2 Kings and was MUCH nicer and larger than I expected, a pleasant surprise! Air conditioning unit, windows that actually opened, spacious patio with a riverfront view. The bathroom lacked a tub, but it was very clean with newer tiles on the floor, an overhead heating lamp, and nice shower with great water pressure. No measly, ratty towel to dry your feet - a REAL white rug lay outside the shower. Roomy granite countertop in the sink area. A cool-looking, non-standard ceiling fan. Large, old school TV that took up lots of depth, and there is no desk or sofa, but two leather office-type chairs. However, the spotless, stainless steel mini-fridge and neat little microwave more than made up for that, especially considering the abundant drawer space and the large electric fireplace! Lots of character throughout the room with its Texas-themed décor. I loved the sheets, but the beds themselves were a bit lumpy.

The paved parking lot is a bit cramped when there’s no vacancy, and they allot only one spot per room in the high season. They have 3 hot tubs, and the riverwalk is just outside the buildings. Hot Springs Inn is about a half-mile walk to the main part of Town, but it is VERY close to the actual hot springs and ball park.

This place is NOT smoker nor pet-friendly.

Continental breakfast of cereals, oatmeals, boiled eggs, bagels, toast, Eggos, yogurt, apples, juice, coffees, and teas are offered in the dining area that is outfitted with plenty of seating and 2 flat-screen TVs.

It was a good value and we’d totally stay here again!
