This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the Ouray Chalet Inn over Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed staying there as much as the first time. The Innkeepers are lovely, warm and friendly. I had flu over Christmas and wasn't feeling too sociable and they offered to help in anyway they can. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, they are as helpful as ever and you can easily walk everywhere in Ouray and Telluride (fab place to ski) is a pretty and easy drive away. Steve and Lora's thoughtfulness even extended to Christmas day when a Santa left a gift outside our room. The Bon Ton restaurant has fab food and is only a few doors away which is handy if you've had a beer or too. Can't praise the Ouray Chalet Inn or Ouray enough as it's just gorgeous. We will stay here everytime we come to this side of Colorado. Ouray also has a fab chocolate shop and as I had flu I felt obliged to indulge and sample most of the merchandise!

Excellent family owned motel. Staff have good local knowledge and are both friendly and helpful. Sound advice on local hikes with regard to routes and difficulty. Rooms were clean spacious and well appointed. Hot tub a delight after a strenuous hike. Ideally located in this charming town.

The Ouray Chalet Inn is pretty much within walking distance of anywhere dowtown (a bit of a walk to get to the hot spring pool on the north side of town, tho).

If you stay here, you are offered half price tickets to the hot springs, too.

The room was decent size and the bed was very comfortable. I found the walls to be a bit thin as I could hear the TV's in the next room on both sides of me.

The rates are very reasonable and the whole place was very clean.

We just returned from a one-night stay at the Ouray Chalet Inn in Ouray, Colorado.

We were pleasantly surprised by what we found. We're used to staying in "chain" motels like Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn Express. But this little motel was right in the center of this quaint mountain town. And for $55 a night (we printed out a coupon from the town's website), it was a great deal!

The same family has run this motel for 30 years. They have updated the rooms in modern decor and amenities. The room we stayed in on the top floor (2 beds) was clean and comfortable and quiet. The family members are really friendly and helpful with local trip activities and restaurant suggestions.

We looked at the other two "chain" motels in town--a Best Western was one. They catered to a large tourbus crowd teaming with kids. The OURAY CHALET INN is smaller, friendlier and cleaner than the other motels around. It's also AAA rated 3 stars.
