The Ouray Chalet Inn is pretty much within walking distance of anywhere dowtown (a bit of a walk to get to the hot spring pool on the north side of town, tho).
If you stay here, you are offered half price tickets to the hot springs, too.
The room was decent size and the bed was very comfortable. I found the walls to be a bit thin as I could hear the TV's in the next room on both sides of me.
The rates are very reasonable and the whole place was very clean.

We just returned from a one-night stay at the Ouray Chalet Inn in Ouray, Colorado.
We were pleasantly surprised by what we found. We're used to staying in "chain" motels like Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn Express. But this little motel was right in the center of this quaint mountain town. And for $55 a night (we printed out a coupon from the town's website), it was a great deal!
The same family has run this motel for 30 years. They have updated the rooms in modern decor and amenities. The room we stayed in on the top floor (2 beds) was clean and comfortable and quiet. The family members are really friendly and helpful with local trip activities and restaurant suggestions.
We looked at the other two "chain" motels in town--a Best Western was one. They catered to a large tourbus crowd teaming with kids. The OURAY CHALET INN is smaller, friendlier and cleaner than the other motels around. It's also AAA rated 3 stars.

I couldnt have enjoyed my stay more.
The hotel was convenient, affordable, and the staff was great. They really made me feel at home during my stay.
I especially loved the town and cant wait to make my next trip. Plenty to see and enjoy.

I just wanted to share a quick note thanking Lora and Steve for the wonderful Hospitality they showed us over our Christmas break! We had a terrific time in Ouray. Thank you so much for all the information on where to see wildlife,as well as all the historical information on Ouray! I believe the whole reason we stay at the Ouray Chaalet Inn is because of Lora and Steve! they make us feel right at at their place. We meet all the locals and now know all the good restaurants (even where John wayne used to eat! thanks again! we will be back this Summer!
My husband and I stayed at the Ouray Chalet Inn in the heart of this cute little town in October this year.
Husband and wife team very friendly and welcoming.
We had a ground floor room with king bed. Very clean, fresh and spacious. Looks like room had been recently refurbished with new carpets etc. Liked the vanity area seperate to shower/toilet room.
Overall very happy with this motel - better than we expected!!!
