we have stayed at the wiesbaden approximately once a year from 1981 through the later 1990's. with a few exceptions ( * ), i'll try to focus on the usual experience... (1) the into-the-mountain (underground) cave/spa is, really, the 'jewell' of this place. there is a 'hot tub' (maybe 108 or hotter!) but all one needs to do is merely hang out nearby for the sauna experience. (2) the outdoor pool is also pretty neat -- usually not the crowds of the main outdoor hot ouray pool -- but being in hot water looking at the icy peaks all around (or being in it at night while heavy snow falls) is a pleasant experience. summer's ain't bad, too. (3) rooms are small, but pleasant. (4) other guests are USUALLY of similar inclination -- don't be too loud nor obnoxious, etc. (5) EVERYTHING in ouray is in easy walking distance. a few good restaurants nearby. we used to frequent the "bon ton" .
we haven't been there in a while, so perhaps some things have changed (e.g., still a bonton? if not, there's bound to be good restaurants/cafes). it is a pleasant change to be able to park your car and leave it. in a sense, this is an 'all inclusive' resort -- if you consider the 3 or 4 or .. block walk to eat as still being in the resort.
