What a disappointment; the rooms were fine, but the restaraunt, The Tundra, was a disaster. Service was non-existent.
Five hours before the restaurant opened we inquired in person if we would need a reservation for our party of seven. We were told, "No, the restaurant was wide open."
We arrived a few minutes after the restaraunt opened. The staff were in the bar, drinking and eating dinner. We were told there was no availability that evening. (There was not another soul in the restaraunt.) We explained what were were told earlier in the afternoon, and that we did not have reservations elsewhere.
The staff said, "We don't know what to tell you. The hotel's front desk often doesn't know what it is doing."
When we later reported this to the front desk, we learned that the restaurant is "poorly managed." We couldn't agree more, and we will stay in Telluride in the future--Jim in Sedona
