We were delighted with our room at the Inn last weekend. It appeared to be recently redecorated and while the floor plan was that of your basic motel, the owners had decorated in a Victorian style that made you feel like you were in a unique motel. Our room had Victorian wallpaper and a bedspread and chairs that carried the theme. We had a most pleasant stay with a Continental breakfast that included soft boiled eggs, toast and tea.

Stayed at the Vic last week and had a nice time. Room was basic and clean, though a little worn. Breakfast was fine, cereals, toast and soft-boiled eggs. Definitely a climbers place and was fine with my 2 buddies, nice to be able to warm up with a walk to the Ice Park in the AM. Hot tub was nice.

We chose the Portland Park Suites, adjacent to and owned by the Victorian Inn, based on the positive reviews of the Inn and the fact that the very new suites had all the amenities we needed for traveling with a toddler. While the new furnishings and kitchenette were nice, the view of the DUMPSTER with lots of overflowing garbage trickling into our "patio" (as though we would sit out there and stare at the garbage) were not quite what was advertised.

Also, the stairs to the second floor units (we were on the first floor) are made of metal. When the upstairs residents came stomping home at 11:00 pm, the banging as they walked up the stairs was so loud that I literally thought someone was banging on the dumpster with a steel pipe. It woke up everyone in our suite. They'd go up and down, several times, every night between 10 and 11.

As the Victorian Inn staff was less than sympathetic about either of our complaints, we will not stay at any part of the property again.

However, we adore Ouray and will keep coming back every year, and will keep looking for the right place for our family.

Nothing special - could be a super 8. Loud due to the thin walls. We were given 2 twin beds instead of the queens we had reserved. tv was on the blink and only a few channels offered. tiny rooms. for the $75 a night, i would have expected more. on the plus side, it was clean.
