This is a cozy bed and breakfast in a cozy and astonishingly beautiful Colorado town. Located in the middle of tiny Ouray, about an hour from expensive Telluride, this place is a real find: immaculate yet very laid back, surrounded by hiking trails, hot springs and an ice climbing park, and quite affordable. The brief introductory tour reveals an entire first floor of the house where guests are welcome to relax as if it were their own, with a fridge full of waters and juices, as well as baskets with fruits and other snacks, for whenever you get the munchies.
Our room was small but lovely with a pretty iron bed with a beautiful quilt. There's tea, coffee and cocoa in the room and the towels are fluffy. The hot tub on the back porch was a perfect temperature, with towels at the ready inside - we didn't have time for the hot springs, and the tub is so convenient.
Our breakfast consisted of fresh home-made apple cake, fresh fruit and yogurt, juices and a great selection of herbal teas plus coffee, and an egg, cheese and chive bake with bacon on the side. All was delicious and I can only imagine what awaits us at our next stay when we have more time.
Steven and Jill, the hosts, are gracious and friendly. I can't wait to go back.
