This property is located a couple miles south of town and I crave the quiet location. As the other reviewers noted this is an older, more rustic property. It is a classic "motor hotel" and if you aren't used to radiating heaters and running the water a few extra minutes to find the warm water, this may not be for you.
But if you are here to ski or enjoy the outdoor beauty, this spot is ideal, the staff are friendly, and I think they take great care of the property.
I was surprised to read negative reviews of the food at the cafe, as I have eaten at the Sundance Cafe probably 20-30 times over the past 15 years and I find it consistently good.
The views of the mountains from the cafe are particularly impressive, as is the mural above the windows that identifies the names of the mountains you are looking at.
I also like the free-wifi in the cafe, and several times sat in there for hours as I caught up on correspondence, planned the rest of my trip, and frequently paused to gaze out at the Continental Divide.
