We tent camped for a night at the South Rim Campground in order to do a little hiking along the Black Canyon's rim and drive the scenic drive in the park along the rim. The campground does not have views of the Canyon itself from the campsites, but some of the higher elevation sites have nice views of the mountains in the distance. There are three loops, and we camped mid-week, with the campground quite empty, so advance reservations would not have been required. Loop C especially is conveniently located to the Rim Rock Nature Trail. There are no shower facilities and only vault toilets, which were clean. The only water available at the campground is for drinking water, as they have to haul in any water to use at the campground. Most of the sites have a reasonable amount of privacy with the foliage cover, and the campground was very quiet. We would stay here again if we returned to the Black Canyon Nat'l Park.
