We stayed at this B&B for several nights while using Montrose, CO as a base for hiking in the stunningly beautiful Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. On the positive side, our room (and its bed) were most comfortable and clean, and the inn itself very quiet despite its proximity to U.S. Route 550. Barb Miller was a pleasant hostess and her breakfasts, while not "gourmet", were hearty and tasty. Our main reservation about Uncompahgre related to Barb's husband Don, who invited himself to join us at breakfast on two occasions to show us the custom hunting knives and walking sticks that he makes and sells. While these items certainly appeared to be well made, we had no real interest in buying them, so his repeated "sales pitch" made us feel uncomfortable.
