Anywhere else this B&B would be booked every night at three times the price. It is a stunning mansion of dark wood and lovely, spacious rooms. We had the place to ourselves on our brief trip to southern Colorado and it was a wonderful introduction to the area. The bed was great and there wasn't much noise even though we were on a main drag. As other reviewers have noted, the bathroom came equipped with a claw foot bathtub. Might not be for everyone but I had a great soak and couldn't have been happier. Eileen will fill you in on all the local places. She prepares a lovely breakfast, great coffee. Of particular note is her granola, yogurt and strawberries. That alone would have been fine for me -- got too full on the eggs she also made. She made oatmeal for my vegan partner but it seemed to be microwaved and not fully cooked. She also baked delicious banana bread which we took with us and later enjoyed after hiking in Great Sand Dunes National Park. We were incredibly surprised to find such a beautiful accommodation so far away from the main attractions. It is definitely off the beaten path but if you find yourself in this direction, so worth it.
