Our family was in Monte Vista for a burial. None of us had lived in Monte for decades, but an old high school friend of my aunt recommended Ninos. On a very busy Friday night, they welcomed these now-strangers like family members. They seated our party of 10-12 at one big table, and brought drinks and chips right away. The servers were very friendly and never got flustered in all the busy-ness. The food wasn't "spectacular" as another reviewer wrote, but it was perfect down-home Mexican-American food. Not flashy, just homey, flavorful, and perfect. You can get everything hot, medium or mild, and the "hot" is really hot (and remember, the kitchen can't control the heat of the chiles used in chiles rellenos). The "medium" sauce had a good kick but wasn't super-hot, and had wonderful green-chile and pork flavor. The margaritas come in the kind of giant frosted mugs you'd expect for root beer - almost personal pitchers. This place was hopping on a Friday night. I think everyone in Monte Vista and several folks from surrounding towns was there. Really a nice family place.
