“Interesting menu and good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2010

On the September evening that we were in Manitou Springs, there weren't many restaurants open. We chose PJ's Bistro since it has an outdoor porch overlooking the main street. The menu was a pleasant surprise. We expected a wings and burgers type place, but the offerings were more sophisticated than that. A number of items on the menu were Polish dishes, which we chose. All the dishes we ordered were tasty and well-prepared. PJ's was a very pleasant vacation find.

“Potatoe Pancakes Galore”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2010

We stopped in here for dinner. My hubby had chicken/sausage on potatoe pancake, I had mozarella/tomatoes/basil on potatoe pancake, and son had a hamburger and fries. They were all very good. Only complaint my son said the fries were too greasy. I agreed. Prices were a little over average. Lots of items on the menu included potatoe pancakes. Server as very nice and attentive. Quick service. Located right on the main street. I would go again.

“good food and lots of it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2010

The server was friendly and food came within a reasonable timeframe. He gave accurate descriptions of the menu items, enabling us to make good choices. The food was good and portions were large. I didn't think much about the decor because we were more interested in people watching, there is a good view of the street scene. One of the best restaurants we encountered for a family that includes carnivores, vegetarians and children. It felt like a casual fancy restaurant.

“Good tasty food, but sooooooo sloooooow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2010

Our party of three stopped in for lunch late Sunday afternoon. We had to wait for a very short while for an outside table to be cleared for us and we were seated. Our waiter came right away and took our drink orders, which returned pretty quickly. We placed our lunch order (2 cheeseburgers and 1 spinach salad) and the wait began. We kept wondering what took so long to cook 2 cheeseburgers and a salad. The man at the table next to us was asking where his food was too. Once our food arrived, it was all very tasty and served very neatly. The burgers weren't your standard pre-packaged variety, but a nicely seasoned 1/2 pound burger with all the toppings and a huge slab of cheese. They came with either fries or house pasta salad. The spinach salad with shrimp was more than adequate and quite delicious with the homemade raspberry dressing. We enjoyed our lunch but hated wasting so much time sitting there versus walking around town and exploring.

“Good food --- but sloooow.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2010

I really enjoyed the food, once it finally arrived! That has to be one of the slowest kitchens I have ever experienced. The same scenario played out at all the tables around us as well as people kept asking if the food was close to being ready. I felt bad for the wait staff having to make excuses just to keep people from walking out. After a 45-minute wait we were about 2 minutes from leaving. However once the food arrived it turned out to be really good. They also comped us 1/2 of our bill due to the wait so I am willing to give them another chance. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day (but it didn't seem that crowded).
