“very new chain hotel, good for short stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

We stayed at this Days Inn in early October, just for a 1-night stay on our way to Denver. For a Days Inn, this is probably one of the newest, cleanest, most (relatively) upscale you'll find. It was brand new and totally spotless. The room was a mini-suite, with separate sitting room. Although alongside a busy highway, the room was quiet enough, and the breakfast was fine (the usual continental breakfast fare). It's not in the downtown Manitou Springs center, so you'll need a car to visit there (the downtown was a nice place to stroll and grab a bite to eat.) For the very low price we paid, this was a really great bargain.

The overall look of the rooms is not beautiful, but they are clean and functional.
Having a workout room and pool/hot tub to go to every day was fabulous. They were also clean (and I was the only one in them which was a treat!)
The customer service was good, I had the refrigerator replaced as soon as I let the staff know mine wasn't working.
The one draw back was that the closing doors to the rooms tend to slam shut and that was very noisy and disturbing when I was trying to sleep.

The Days Inn chain is in the 2 to 3 star level of motel. My wife and I rate this Days Inn excellent, 5/5 for this level of motel. Staff super friendly and accommodating to needs of guests. The rooms kept very clean, the bedding is comfortable, everything works as it should. We like a heating air conditioning system that actually allows you some control over the room temperature, and our rooms unit did. We also like the fact that we could open a window. Since my significant other prefers to sleep at temperatures below 60 (yes we are seniors), cracking the window allowed us to get the room nice and cool at night. Grandkids loved the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was good, and there was enough selection of things to satisfy most folks. Would most definitely stay here again.

Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was a very basic Days Inn continental breakfast with bagels, toast, waffles, yogurt, etc. Our room faced the "forested" area in the back and we did see a deer. Only negative was in our suite, we had one TV which was bolted to the console (expected), but you could not swivel it to see it in the "living room" part of the suite, making watching TV only from the bed a necessity. Good location and very clean room.

Room Tip: Good, clean basic room. Very helpful staff,

Everyone was very friendly. Clean rooms good hospitality. The only thing that bothered me were all the "no" signs on the front door and all the rules signage at the front desk. I can understand the need to let guests know of the rules, but, just found that a little off. Maybe signs can be put somewhere else so instead of the front door and lobby so that guests can feel more welcome and have a more inviting presence for the first impression. But, overall, clean and friendly! We would come back.
