My wife and I decided to visit the Stone Mountain Lodge & Cabins, for a potential wedding site. They showed us their ceremony site, which was very nice four about 10-60 people, any more than that would be very over crowed. They had two areas were you could have your reception site after your ceremony. One being a very large tent with windows and green carpet and a small dance floor and about ten people can dance on at one time. The cost for use of their tent is very high $1,000 more to be exact. We decided to go with the smallest of their packages, which provided use of the “Garden Area” for about $900. They required having a 50% deposit at the time of the booking which was normal. We decided about a month before our wedding that we would like to stay at the site the night before the wedding. One of the ladies that worked their said they had one cabin left for that night, and the charge would be $ 125.00 per night for the “studio cabin # 22”. We decided to take it, although I was not very happy about the pricing. The night before the wedding we arrived about 8:00 pm and had to pick up our key from the over night box. We entered our room and discovered it was very very small. It had a queen size bed, a mini-kitchenette has microwave that wouldn’t hold a bag of pop corn, fridge that you could put a six pack of pop in, coffeemaker and a small sink that you couldn’t wash a plate in. Although we did find many more unwanted items in that cabin as well. They had a ceiling fan that was placed over the foot of the bed and we noticed many red specs on the beds white sheets and on the wall above the head board. Upon closer inspection we discovered they were larva from BOX ELDER BUGS!!. We look a bit closer at the reset of the room and they were everywhere!! In the curtains, the lap shaded and under the table. We decided to stay else where do the nastiness of the room. We went to the manager the next morning and complained, they said they new about the problem in there cabins and have had other complaints, they also offered an insulting $30.00 credit for their $120.00 room. Although the ceremony and reception site was nice, I WOULD NOT EVER RECOMMEND SLEEPING IN THERE CABINS.
