My husband and I were in Raymond Colorado for our honeymoon during the holiday season. It was New Year’s Eve and we decided to go out for dinner. I thumbed through the yellow pages and found the Black Bear Inn. It looked like a good choice so we agreed on it. We arrived around 5:30, and my first thoughts of the outside were that it had great charm and character. When we walked inside the host that greeted us asked if we had a reservation. We apologized and said no, we had not. That just shows my age at the time. To think that we could just walk in on New Year’s Eve without a reservation. The host went to get the owner, and she said that it would be no problem to sit us. Of course we were underdressed, but were treated like we belonged there. The menu was a set menu because of the holiday, and the prices were a little high, but the selections were very enticing. I had a glass of red wine that the server suggested that was wonderful. I wish I could remember what it was. Dinner was unbelievable. My husband and I still rave about it today. We had a chocolate taco for desert that was amazing. We have talked about going back for one of our anniversaries, but I think that the Inn is for sale now. By the way, I can't select the correct date for some reason. It was 2006.
