First, we won a donated gift certificate from the Hotel at an event for a 1 night stay, dinner at the restaurant and a hot continental breakfast in the morning, all for 2 people. I have to say I was questionable at first based on previous experiences but this current Owner has brought the hotel up to much higher standards. The overall feeling of the rooms are VERY comfortable including the beds and the bathroom has improved 100%. I also liked the extra plug ins for cell phones etc...on top of the table. We were able to charge everything very easily. The dinner was VERY good. I especially enjoyed the side of green beans that tasted more home cooked than cooked from frozen. My baked potato was good but my husbands was a little under done. The ribeye steaks we had were simply delicious! I have to say that we ate at a high end restaurant in Estes Park, and this overall meal beat it hands down!! Service staff in the restaurant and hotel lobby were very accommodating and friendly. On our first visit, I did have a slight issue with my first reservation not showing up so am glad I called to confirm but they were able to take care of us immediately. Because we stayed at this hotel for free (THANKS!) just before Christmas, we saw a flyer about the New Years Eve Celebration and invited friends to come with us for this event 1. because of the price (it beat all other hotels we checked on) AND 2. they had not 1 but 2 bands playing all night. 1 was more old time music which MADE :) us dance all night and the other band was more contemporary, called GreyWeather in the bar. Even though they played all night and the bar was packed, the tables were not moved for dancing until the other band was done but this band kept us up dancing until 2:30 am! About the staff again, for the New Years Celebration, we called like many others attempting to get us close to our friends, at least in the same area. I know it was no small feat but they did it and got us a room right next to each other! Way to go girls! We also had a blast in the FREE Photo booth. Just like the good old days....My husband and I were not early risers to get breakfast. We got there like 10 minutes before it ended I can't say I especially enjoyed what was left at that time but totally understand that if we ate at a decent time, we would have enjoyed the breakfast. It appeared plentiful earlier on, just not when we decided to wake up. I would recommend to anyone that may have had a less than good experience to try this Hotel again......It really has improved a ton! Thanks again for your generous donation to the Big Thompson Canyon Association Pancake Breakfast Event that brought us back again!!! The only thing I did miss was an indoor hot tub...I was really ready to relax my achy shoulders, but I got over that quick. Oh, I also have to say that this hotel seems to accommodate pets but I did not see any evidence of "pets" like I did at a hotel in Estes Park, Thanks! (even though I have two medium size dogs I would have loved to have brought but not sure how they would handle being along in a hotel room while I was out and about......)
Room Tip: 1. Room with interior window facing ballroom area was a little noisier with a wedding going on. 2...
