Stayed here on a recent biz trip. First of all, I had to change my reservation and was exceptionally pleased with how easily and efficiently they handled the change. Excellent coordination between phone reservations and email confirms. They've really done all they can to streamline the process for guests.
The hotel is very new, light, bright, ultra-clean. Very nice lobby with a free better-than-usual breakfast (make-your-own waffles, eggs, cereal and a big variety of continental-type options).
Front-desk check-in was quick and cheerful. They rapidly exchanged my down pillows for foam ones upon arrival.
The room was big, quiet and ultra-clean. Extra-large desk with free DSL much appreciated. The pillow-top bed was so comfortable I considered buying one for my house, and BTW, they will actually sell you one. Linens were a grade above what you'd expect. The bathroom was big, bright and ultra-clean with a curved shower rod to make the shower feel bigger. Good pay-per-view movies on the TV. Fridge, microwave and coffee pot meant I could keep food there and avoid restaurants at the end of a long tiring day. Housekeeping was efficient and thorough.
Location is easy-on-off and centrally located between Denver and Boulder. Tons of chain-type restaurants and stores all around for whatever you could want or need. If you want restaurants with more character, Boulder is an easy drive.
All in all, it's hard to believe you could get this much value for the very reasonable rates that La Quinta charges. They have "borrowed" many of the features of much more expensive Westin Hotels -- the pillow-top beds, better linens, pillow choices, curved shower rods -- and made them available in an affordable roadside business hotel.
I plan to stay here on biz trips from now on.
One caution: Not all La Quintas are this nice. I've stayed at some of the older ones and had nowhere near this level of experience, although I suspect the whole chain is heading in this much better direction.
